Right, little update on the VR. Turns out the guy who had it before me decided not to tighten up the bolts on the front calipers after changing the pads. Nice suprise when I took off the wheels. Water pump has been changed now. Whilst it was being done I find out that the front engine mount was completely loose! Anyway its sound now. MOT today!

but I still want the handling of the corrado. And I definatly do not want a jap toy car. It good to hear you have big plans for the car. What about something like a bi turbo vr6 or a vr6 turbo engine in the back and one in the front. You will get the power you want. If handling is something you want, I think a 20vt will handle much better. Most people on here are more interested in refining their corrado rather than sheer perfornamce. I think thats why we we dont mind that the engine is 190hp (small compared to the like of RS4)

I think you would be better off going for a jap car or some america muscle if quarter miles are your thing.

I really like your smiley face! I think relocate will be a good overall. I just find it a untidy part of the engine bay. :mad2:

rougher than usual? :D Would I need to plug both the pipes if I did remove it?
-
Thats strange. I dont know if it help but the fast right indicator clicking should mean that one of your indicator light has gone. Check that 1st for that problem.
-
Hello, Does anyone know how to do this (apart from the obvious bolts). Do I need to plug the end of the pipes etc? I was gonna use the space for either a cold air feed or a oil catch tank. Thanks

I saw your car at Ed38. It was looking awesome. I absolutely loved your car on the ZW1s but the BBS look awesome.
-
Spot on. Thanks Peppy, Its deifinitely the water pump that has all the play in it.
-
Thanks, Yeah Im buying the belt aswell. Im really worried now that im getting the water pump pulley mixed up with something else. Has anyone got a photo of thw water pump on the engine?
-
 Ok. Down to the dealers tomorrow then.
-
Im pretty sure its the water pump. Its quite a large pulley behind the the alternator pulley and the power steering pulley? your able to touch half of it but not the other half becoause the metal panel you sit the airbox on is in the way. Anyway. When the car is running, it wobbles like a spinning plate on the end of a stick. I was gonna replace with a GSF water pump.

Spotted a Corrado L reg midnight blue on the way back from Edition38 last Sunday. I was chasing him round the M25 from M1 junction to Heathrow junction.
-
Agreed, My VR6 is pretty much the same consumption as my 16v was. They are really lazy low tick over engines. I get the same mpg driving round town in the VR as I did in the 16v!!!

You will be able to get a really nice once for that money. You could even have a vr6 for that money if you look hard enough.
-
Yeah I popped a coolant hose last week. It all goes at once doesnt it.
-
I agree with above. As long as you don't want something fast then both are good. I bit the VR6 bug im afraid and would never go back. My 16v I used to have to ragged in order to get anything out of it. I think if you want a bit more of a torquey style feel. Go for the 8v. Or if you like to live in the high rev range then go for the 16v.

Well the prob is it is at work at the mo. The garage I use is next to my house. Its going to be an interesting drive home tonight. :D Should be able to borrow a car from somewhere for the next couple of days.
-
well thats the thing. There is no water coming out. Problem is I dont have a big enough jack to jack the front mount to even check if it is a bolt :mad2:
-
Hi Guys, My water pump has got enough play in it now that it rubs against the block. I cant get it into a garage until Friday and use it as a daily runner. How Dangerous is it to us the car for the next couple of days?
-
Cheers Tom, Was good to see you on the weekend. Your was looking awesome going down the quarter mile.
-
see its weird cos its Ice grey violet. Its a very strange colur that seems to look different in all lights. I love Storm grey aswell.

Thats what I thought I fancy my chances of picking up something reasonable like that MIke. "and a hose and plastic housing spiltting 200 miles from my home." Typical never happens at the bottom of your street does it   Yeah its bloody typical. I do use it as a daily aswell. If your hands on, there is nothing you cant fixed or replace. I have got quite plan for mine anyway so I will end up changing everything on it anyway. The only advise I can give you is give it a good looking over! (the guys who had mine replace the front pads and forgot to do the calipers back up!!!!! )

oops, Thats the old one. This is the new one!
