has anyone had any luck finding the guy who does these?
-
So can u still get these chips off ebay?
-
I think that the best thing to say to yourself is 'dont build if you can buy' I had exactly the same thoughts as you. I loved my 16v and still do. But trust me, take a real vr6 for a drive and you will be a changed man. Its such a more refined drive, not just more power. If you are content on a dif engine then go the 20vt route, or if you wanna be a little different then 16vt or 16v/g60. But all take a lot of wedge and man hours.

I dont know if this will help but try changing the 109 ecu relay. This cleared up a stalling problem I had with my vr6. Also made the rear spoiler work again, which was a plus.

Pics will be coming very soon. Along with a few mods. Have you just bought a VRT? I see your signature has changed.
-
I do agree Ben. I bought the VR6 for cheap!!! with a few problems. stalling ocassionally. Rear spoiler not working and a cracked windscreen. Also when I bought it on the drive back the fan motor actually caught on fire!!!! No joke. But now its all sorted and running as sweet as a nut. It was just one of those cars where the previous owner had not cared for it at all. I have to say that the VR is a much more refined drive, smoother and with the power that the corrado always needed. Its a shame better really the 16v was alot harsher drive and quite under powered. But my 16v was a much better looking car 8)

Oh yes it will be there for no rice in september. I did love the car though. Are you gonna be there?
-
Told you so. Its always the small things that make the big difference.

Hello All, Well its a very sad day today :( I have sold my Quartz Corrado to a really nice local gent. It was really hard to see it go actually. BUT!!! i do have a replacement :D You may be able to see it in the background of the pics.

I have done the same Tom. I just ghot myself a vr aswell. I love my 16v but again cant afford to keep two cars. :( Did I see your car in the CCGB stand at the GTI internationals.
-
Thats correct Kev, Its was on my VR6 that I had the problem. Is the relay different on a 16v/8v?
-
Hi all, Just to let anyone know who is having trouble getting their rear spoiler to come up automatically. I have solved mine :D It was the 109 Relay on the fuse box. VW have made a new relay to replace the original one. The tell tale signs for this to be the solution seem to be, if your spoiler works on the manual switch. If your Corrado revs quite low or ocassionally cuts out when changing down a gear or coming to a halt. The part is £14 inc for the dealer. I hope this helps.

That looks great. I just looks like the car was always supposed to have that engine.

Hello, Can I get one from you please if you still have any. Thanks -
Hi, Does anyone know the part number for the 109 ecu Relay on a vr6. Went down the dealers and they have 4 different ones????????
-
Im not far myself either. Would be happy to have a look. I know you have probably checked this but almost the same things happened to my vr6. All it turn out to be was a loose maf connect. If you havent checked it, try that and see what happens. Mine came off completely when I went over a bump!!!

Also what is a Dashpot? And where is it located?
-
Thank you for the list. I will go through them numerically and see if it help. Also gonna give the car a service for some peace of mind.
-
Thanks Jim, I will give that a try (nice to meet you the other day). The fan is spot on by the way.
-

There are some silly clean engine bays on here!!!! Nice to see a clean 16v engine aswell. Doesnt seem to be very many of them about.

Hi all, I have just purchased a VR6. Already the car has got issues :mad2: What can I say, if you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Anyway, It was hesitating last night and the idling seemed to be wavering a little. Im off to the stealer or GSF on Sat and just need to know where you guys think this issue is coming from? Im thinking the following: ISV 109 ecu relay (seen someone else on here has had a similar issue plus my spoiler doesnt come up automatically. That seemed to cure that as well) What else do you guys think?
-
thats one clean g60 engine bay!!!!
-
Wow, theres not very many people who would take their vr6 engines out for a 20vt? You got big plans for the car? Same as above, try the 20v Thread
