im in no mad rush for em but it'd be nice to have em. is the remap done on the rolling road or can the ecu be flashed on the bench?
-
Sound advice i'd be a fool to ignore. Cheers :)

Thanks for advice guys. I can appreciate the fact that the cheaper loom is cheaper for a reason. I think "putting their life at risk" may be a tad dramatic tho. I may be alot of things but im not daft enough to sit in the car while its on fire.
-
does anyone on here sell the uprated headlight looms? i've seen them on ebay but thought i'd try on here first. i'll be fitting some inpros soon and installing a hid kit so i think its probably best to uprate the loom

payment for headlights sent :)

Yeah i was thinking direct port due to thefact theres 6 cylinders, i also have a 330ci that i was considering spraying and theres now you can you anything other than dp with them due to the length of the engine/intake manifold BUT i have seen a few VR's with single foggers on and the guys running them said as long as you dont fire it below 3500 the velocity of the air keeps the fuel atomised properly, one guy was running a 100 shot with no problems for well over a year Which system do you have jmc? Single? Dp? Wizards, nx? And more importantlyhow much are you looking for it :)
-
I've done quite a bit of reading about this and dont have a definitive answer. If i were to keep my shot below 100 (probably 50-75) and used a window switch to only allow it to fire above 3500rpm would a single wet fogger be ok? This is not a thread about should i or shouldnt i etc etc i already know im going to, i've done my research about nitrous injection, intake pooling etc im really just looking for advice as to which firing system would be best I dont mean it in an arrogant way i just dont want it turn into a thread of ney sayers etc :) Any of you guys running nitrous?

Okies. Paypal waiting :)

How much posted matey?
-
Ooo dibs on the inpros please. Black or chrome? Any pics?
-
Yeah for the cost etc its a worthwhile mod, not massively different but it definitely climbs the revs quicker :)
-
Just to give this thread some closure. Go the car off the ramp today and took it for a drive, after 10 mins or so of varied driving the car now idles perfectly so it was as i suspected just relearning its parameters :) All's well
-
havent had it oiut on the road yet as its still waiting for exhaust gaskets and stuff but it did seem a little rich on the exhaust yeah, i shall investigate today. thanks for the replies guys

i've had my battery off for a couple of days while i had the flyhweel machined, it all went back together fine and started up well on its "choke" but after a while when it normally drops down to around 8-900 revs it didnt. it wont drop below 1000-1100. everything was fine before it went on the ramp. is it because i've reset the ecu with the battery been off for so long or is this not normal? should i be chasing an air leak? im planning on taking it out for a spin about today just to see if it settles back into it's "values" cheers jamie

lol no mate just your average gearbox specailist, like i said this guy came highly recommended and has been trading for years and runs a very reputable busniess not a back street hell hole. he reckons the mineral oil will give better protection all round and last longer, i've just beeen doing abit of googling about it and there are a few manufacturers that use engine oil in gearboxes as standard (isuzu, toyota, vauxhall)
-
this is a new one for me, a friend of mine took his gearbox (mk5 golf tdi) to a gearbox specailist in leeds for a service, this guy came very highly recommended and runs a well established business that has specailsed in gearboxes for 20 years. so my mate has the work done (new 3rd gear, diff rivets, bearing etc) and gets the gearbox back, whie we're chatting to the guy i say "oh what oil should he be using" guy says "10w 40 mineral engine oil"!!!! "what dafuq? engine oi??" i say, he reckons it will out perform and out last ANY fully or semi synth gearbox oil you can find by a long chalk, so i asked him what he would recommend for my ageing VR6 as i have the gearbox out i may aswell do a service while its on the ramp, same thing 10w 40 mineral oil? any one ever heard of this? the guy was adamant (not adam ant, hes called ste lol)

ty :) it is a cracking peice of road goes on for miles and miles
-
i've noticed they're quite hard to find (as is anything corrado) are there any others that "fit" the rado? mine is colour coded and cracked and its a bit tacky tbh so i'd like to replace it with the black rubber one
-
mine has 20mm steel spacers all round and i've had no problems, my driving could be discribed as tw@tish from time to time :)
-
couple more mods to the rado. decat and removed backbox, welded in a straight peice of pipe, now it sounds like a vr6 :) [video=youtube_share;htWxm013yZk] and while we were under there we noticed the flywheel HADNT BEEN LIGHTENED!!!, but we'll soon remedy that here she is the overweight slob lol
-
oh cool thanks for the replies
-
i've toyed with the idea of cams, what sort of gains would we be looking at with 263's? can these be run on standard mapping, manifolds etc? *edit* sorry obviously it would need mapping in (facepalm) lol
-
it already had a decat and resonated custom stainless system but it just seemed to get quieter after the 2k rumble so me and a friend set too on the ramp today and removed the backbox and grafted on a straight peice, didnt take too lomg as we had already practiced with my 330ci :) heres the result, bit windy up here on the penines but i think ya can still just make the car out lol [video=youtube_share;htWxm013yZk]
