  1. Toad just likes it cos it's wrong
  2. Mine was cocking about and there was a split in the rubber elbow to the throttle body. Self amalgamating tape sorted it for Stanford Hall and it's ok for now but i think the stealers will get their £51 odd soon............................. :( bastards
  3. I have alway said that if i could find the scum that do this to peoples' cars i would happily hack off their arms with a machete. Especially if it was mine. I feel your angry and frustration at this mindless action, these are the people I wish cancer, chronic disease and a painful death on. They aren't fit to walk the earth. I'd have typed the same with the same intentions if sober.............. I'm normally a nice person, but this &%$£ me off.
  4. As long as they don't drive into your Storm!!!
  5. Postie on the parcel run today asked me if I wanted to sell mine, he'd dropped off a parcel the week before so had had time to think about it! Obviously I said no, no chance, too much done to it!! I love my little valver............................
  6. If it was the fuse you'd lose rev counter and MFA too on an early valver.
  7. I too had a double filament failure, spent ages chasing fuses and relays! The next time I had the same symptom I bought two bulbs and it was a fuse, typical!!
  8. If she's got a giveway line and she drove into the side of you, and you weren't speeding etc then I'd say you should be in the clear. She obviously not given way. Good luck with this, Colin
  9. If it only crunches gears on harsh acceleration could it not be an engine mount problem??
  10. That pic is a lot less complimentary than Sonicriot13's!!! Awful!
  11. Vw leads from a 1990 1.8 16v. Yeah the deep-down inside buggers! If you're going to replace them OEM is probably your best bet, they'll be around £80 a set but apparently better quality than non-original leads. Mine's on its second set in 178,000 miles! You pays ya money etc.........
  12. Mine normally turns over and fires okay, but then it may run on 3 cylinders for 30 secs or so, bit of right boot blippage normally sorts it. 8) No idea about your problem sorry.
  13. Valvers don't always fire-up on 4 cylinders first thing, mine has sporadically started like that for 10 years!
  14. What a total b@stard to photograph!!!! How's this, doesn't really show much, not much room for an angle shot! Plug end.JPG[/attachment:zv1osl4w] Plug lead reseats with an audiable 'click!'
  15. As i understand it each fuel line has its own little filter in the metering head, or at least there's another filter in there some where (this could be Bol lox!) if so could this be blocked?
  16. I've got the headliner out and everything so i thought Feckit! The front end has got wet a couple of times so we'll see about that, I'll be getting a hand hopefully to speed things up. Any I don't use I can sell on to a mate so it's no real problem. Better to have too much than too little. I amazed at how thin the sheets are compared with Dynamat I've used in the past. I got the Sludge which is Spectrum with a bottle of Activator. Should be a laugh, Thickening the goo should make less mess, that's the theory, I'll be putting it over some of the sheeting on the fiddly bits so my overlaps don't have to be perfect! It'll keep me busy after Uni stuff is finished.........
  17. I've gone for the ol' Dampilfier stuff, bulk box of 40 square foot and a big tub of that gloppy $hite with the thickener, 2 weeks and the college stuff'll be in and I can crack on with it!!! Then the interior that's been in the garage forever can go in!!! 8)
  18. For a Valver? Wouldn't they be 5 stud?
  19. Should be loads of people on here to advise on that. There are people with Porsche set ups so it is possible. You've already got the important bigger rims!!!
  20. Mine has the classic 99.9mpg, I wish! I've checked all the vacuum lines and they seem okay. It's running and idling okay and when I did the secondary function thing and read the pressure bit it's nowhere near the readings given in the Bentleys manual, but then I've got a Valver so I don't know if the readings would be the same???? Anyone? Seems to me like the white vacuum sensor maybe u/s but they're apparently £200 from VW so it's still not fixed!! Not the end of the world, maybe I'll chase it after exams, soundproofing, fitting interior, sorting pond filters and external power sockets, finish bathroom etc etc etc
  21. You gotta have a bit of luck with these things. My stereo had alternator whine so I disconnected/reconnected all rca cables............ sorted!
  22. If the timing is way out it'll be overfuelling and the exhaust manifold will be getting a lot hotter. I think this could be to a degree of combustion in the manifold? Dunno, someone better at piston engines than me could tell you.
