  1. The biggest ars£ was connecting them. First I tried to solder the wires to the contacts on one of the blown bulb contacts but to no avail so I ended up cuting the flexible pcb strip and choccy blocking them on - It works! I had to cut a piece of the rear casing away for space but I'd lost patience by then  End result wasn't too shabby, although after I'd pinged the speedo needle fitting everything, I had to take the speedo cover off at college to put the needle the correct side of the pin so it could move!!! Wouldn't take me long to do it again!

    LED strips

I don'y know if anyone will be interested but this company in the States do a wide range of different colour and sized flexible waterproof 12v LED strips. Could look a bit Chav if you get carried away 'a la' website pics  , but it's not compulsory! Prices are good and the stuff arrived in 4 days. I'm just redoing dash lighting (keeping the green - done)and sorting a boot light (in white - to do) as the original is crap and covered by sub box. One of the small ones had a broken conductor :( , I e-mailed them the offender's photo and another one's straight in the post, that's service! 8) climatronic wiring-Golf from May 01.pdfCorrado dash etc 002 (Small).jpg[/attachment:3tez03ht] 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfCorrado dash etc 018 (Small).jpg[/attachment:3tez03ht] Corrado dash etc 019 (Small).jpg[/attachment:3tez03ht]
  3. I've put the amp for my front speakers/tweeters in the passemger footwell. It's got a proper board affair across it lifting the carpet a bit to allow air circulation and I've never had any probs. It's an old kenwood bridged to 2x80w rms with a built in fan and thermal cutout which has never had to cutout since i moved it there. With car-mats fitted people don't even notice it's there.
  4. If it's an unknown quantity and you're putting more torque through it I'd be inclined to bin it and get the real thing. Better safe than sorry!!!
  5. I'll have to give that ago first! Mine's been out for welding and it's minging. We like cheap but effective options. I really must sort out my wiring/plugs and get that and the rest of the interior back in. :(
  6. Why not treat yourself to something a little different instead???
  7. Have to agree there that can't be standard, what's it for??? I'd get a new/2nd hand left guard it's got a hole in the top too!!!!
  8. Yea gods that's truely horrrible.............................................R.I.P :(
  9. Cheers for that. It's the sort of thing people to ask me occasionally and i've never had an answer!!
  10. Sounds like it'll do the job!!!
  11. Where can you get that mega sticky mastic from?? Must be available somewhere. Still thinking of trying some of that T-60 sound barrier stuff from my previous link. It sounds much more flexible than Dynamat and cheaper, must check delivery prices!
  12. Got a retro fit rear from here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Volkswagen-Corrado-Retro-Fit-Flexi-Flat-Wiper-Blades_W0QQitemZ360013496946QQihZ023QQcategoryZ9889QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Worked fine but needs to be clicked right in properly. Got Lupos on the front 8)
  13. Small list!!! Silver renault 19 1.4 energy, F reg Green 1.8 valver Corrado, G reg - had it over 10 years now!
  14. I'm not sure that's the right stuff is it? I think that more of a felt material. If you read installation tips it mentions glue and such, wonder if they post to uk? The stuff for doorcard wants to be the self adhesive sheets...pauses for a search on T'internet.... This stuff looks a good price depending on postage http://www.customaudiodesigns.co.uk/soundproof_pl.htm More felt stuff http://www.tradepriced.co.uk/car_carpet.html Edit: Should have written Dynamat with an 'A' not 'O', my mistake above
  15. It sounds like your door membranes, windscreen or a leak through the blower intake like you mentioned. I had a curious prob where a small bit of sealent on a new screen had missed under the scuttle panel allowing water to track along the bottom of the thin plastic cover over the leaf guard and drip straight down through the blower aperture and off the motor casing. Anywhere else and i'd not have had a wet interior! :( Get a hose on it, you made need a lot of water to make it obvious if it's a small leak. It all adds up!
  16. Or you could Dynomat the entire door and improve your tunes at the same time 8)
  17. Did mine just before Xmas. The only prob with it was an initial bit of warm air that cooled off. Tested valves, ran the matrix through etc etc, Turned out that 17 'n' a half years of fluff add effectively blocked air flow through 2/3 of the matrix. Changed it and wished I'd done it about 2 years ago, well toasty now!!! I left dash in but found removing the ducting to the screen a bit of ballache but handy in allowing a bit room to manouveure. A degree of brute strength is a bonus as long as you're careful. I took the opportunity to glue in some more foam at the joints that originally had some, it all goes crumbly and not very air tight. I've still got a load of bits on the rear seat but it's toasty and warms up nice and quickly now so the rest can wait!!! Enjoy, It'll be worth it in the end 8)
  18. Not got one myself but the same engine is used in Ford galaxys, i know charleyVR6 always tries them for parts like that!!
  19. You must be happy with that. Great result!
  20. You're a bit lucky there I've not been on for weeks!!!
  21. I had a weird problem with mine, I would get warm airflow but it then cooled off if i put the fan on, as if the fan was too strong for it. Put up with it for months as I put off pulling the interior out. Bit the bullet after de-icing inside and out one morning! I concluded that the matrix must be partially blocked one way or other. Turned out the air fins were 2/3 clogged with 17.5 years of fluff and sh1te that couldn't be removed without destroying them!!! Changed the matrix - no worries, toasty as toast now!! 8) 8) £27 +VAT Colin
  22. If the dye didn't take you've prob got more polyester than cotton in the mix. At least they're clean though
  23. You'll find a large-ish rubber grommet in front of the passenger footwell bulkhead that'll take 2 x 85amp cables with ease. I put a cross cut in it and rubber sealed it after, it's been fine for the last 9 years!!! Colin
