It has a blue one. It's still buggered! Been filling it up and trying to bleed it for days now... If I run it with the cap off, the coolant suddenly starts bubbling out of the top of the header tank.

I'll check the plastic flange and stuff when it stops raining :]. It's in the right area to be the culprit!

Hi all! I had an issue with my Corrado 16V last night. I was travelling 'quick enough' down a lovely long empty bypass with a friend following me flashing as more and more steam appeared. When I pulled up, there was in fact no coolant left in the header tank at all, and the temperature had risen. The cabin heater also went cold. I cant seem to find a blown hose anywhere on it, however the gearbox and surrounding area of the bulkhead are soaked. I'm wondering if a core plug has either started to leak or blown out completely? There has been something not quite right for a while now, but the car doesn't seem to be down on power and it runs sweet still... Anyone had similar?

I've taken them off and cleaned them out thoroughly as well as a light bit of pillar drill modification which seems to have made a nice difference :)

Hi all, My Corrado 16V KR is confusing me... The heater is working perfectly fine until after an indicated 90 degrees where it just blows stone cold. I have fitted a new water pump and thermostat today and the issue is still there. I cant work out what is causing this issue. I have noticed there is what looks like a small valve body in the pipes near the bulkhead going to the heater matrix. Is there a chance this component is somehow at fault? Cheers, Shaun

AH! Coolant temp did go through my mind... there is a fault with the water pump at the moment. Is this likely to be upsetting it? I think it's the water pump anyway lol

Hi guys... My Corrado 16V KR will not idle (it just cuts out unless you give it a bit of throttle) and it splutters a lot when it's started. If you use the accelerator a tiny bit it will run fine. After a while of driving the idle returns and it goes back to normal. I cant figure out what it is thats wrong, but I need to work it out pretty quick as when I pull up to a junction and the engine cuts out the brakes and steering become dreadful and i've had a few near misses!

I did clean it up well and drive it for a week, and it is around these two sensors in particular that the oil is appearing from. What are the two sensors? and what size spanner/socket do I need to remove them? Also, where would I find new ones?

Hi all, My Corrado KR is throwing oil out bad! It seems to be dropping on the floor under the oil filter area. Has anyone had this trouble and what solved it? The oil filter is on tight, 0-ring is in place etc... It's chucking so much out I cant really drive it (used about 3L of oil in the last fortnight) Cheers!

Will the exhaust manifold from the KR swap straight to the ABF?

Hi everyone, I've got a Corrado 16V 1.8 KR and it seems to be fairly unhappy. It's making some evil noises, it's chucking out out all over the bottom of the car and I think the clutch is murdered too. I have an ABF sat on my driveway that I think I should throw in as I can not be without a car. I figured it's probably quicker and easier to run it on the KR's K-JET system. Is there anything I need to do to put this engine into my car or can I just pull the KR out and drop the ABF in plug and play? I'm in a major rush so any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers, Shaun

I know they will fit, I want to physically see 15 and 16 inch wheels on corrados as I dont want to look like a corsa does with 17" wheels. I dont know what people tend to go for reguarding diameter.

Looking at buying some 16X8 & 16X9 ET25 wheels for my Corrado. I'm hoping they will fit well, just wondering if 15" wheels would be a better choice? Can people post pictures of their Corrado's on 15" and 16" wheels, stating the figures please? THANKYOU!!

I will be tidying the crank up, might have another one to put in if I need to, but mine should be ok to be fair.

Is it only doing this when cold? Or is it every time you turn the key, reguardless of how long it's been sat?

I called VW yesterday and apparently they stopped production in April 2011 and they haven't got any. I had a good old shout down the phone to the useless cnut and ended up switching my insurance bak to my reliable fiesta lol. I'm taking the Corrado to work on saturday and we are going to see what we can do. I do have an ABF, a MK1 Caddy 1.8 and a MK2 GTI 8V sitting on my driveway so I can probably do something :D
