Today I hated my Corrado again. It is the most unreliable, bad handling and irritating car i've ever owned... and I've had ****ty MK1 Caddys.
-
Well, I cant seem to find a new pulley and bolt ANYWHERE!
-
Uh ohhh, just a thought! I had to weld my water pump pulley up as a temporary fix, and it got a bit of a wobbble on... this has probably helped **** the crank pulley?
-
Cheers for the reply! I have checked the timing on crank and cam pulleys and it seems to be ok. there is a slight wobbly on the pulley, but somehow I cant see it causing what I'm suffering with, although every symptom in the post relates to me too! Might be worth an investigation! Is it a worn woodruff key or something I'm looking for?

I've changed the fuel filter but it's still running flat as a witches tit. Anyone got any suggestions?
-
I've done various iming checks with lights, used exhaust gas analysers etc and it's still pooped. I ran out of fuel a couple of times in it lately, so I'm going to change the fuel filter and see if that has an impact on things! Being 23 years old and possibly still on the riginal filter, I wouldnt be suprised if it was the cause of all this.
-
ah, i thought the pulley was 2 parts welded together haha, it is welded solid now, much better! I think it was badly welded before anyway!

Got a feeling my ignition timing is not advancing/retarding. Can anyone expand on how this is controlled and what is likely to be ausing the trouble? I've already checked valve timing and stuff, and it seems ok. Performance started to suffer a bit a week or two ago, but it has got a lot worse now. It struggles to pull away and is very very very flat. The induction note sounds slightly more 'strained' that usual and the exhaust is also a little bit different sounding but not too noisy at all. It does little exhaust pops when gently revved to a low RPM. Once up to speed, the characteristics of the car are as usual, except for a huge lack of power. Any ideas?
-
I had this kind of noise happening, turned out one of the pulleys had broken. Theres a 2-piece pulley on the waterpump (the larger of the two pulleys on there). The welds had deteriorated and caused the outer pully to move about creating noise.

Yeah, I know what you mean, and I love the BBS look. I have a set of BBS's on my MK1, but I fancy something different on my Corrado I think.
-
I'm 4X100 - sorry, I probably should have said at the start lol
-
I love the BBS look too, but it's so played out and generic now... plus I have a set of BBS's (albeit **** RJ's!) for my MK1 Caddy lol. I would consider some as it does look good! But I am a fan of simple effective wheels too, hence the Rotiform NUE's.
-
I don't really want to aim for a look, I'd rather just buy stuff that looks nice and let the car build itself lol. I have thought a lot about Dare RS though! I am a fan of Borbet A's too! I think I want to end up with some Rotiform NUE's on it, but I shall have to wait til I' not a student for that!
-
Hi all... Been looking for wheels but haven't yet found anything I can afford without standing on a street corner. I want something that compliments my red Corrado that doesnt cost the earth. What are you all running? Shaun
-
Thankyou! This has hopefully helped me out too!
-
Anyone? I'm scared and need it fixing before Thursday!
-
My passenger side topmount looks like the pictures of buggered ones shown... I can turn the top plate bit freely by hand with the vehicle on the ground, and the thread turns too.... is this normal and is it just the topmount thats gone? I'm running coilovers on a 16V...
-
Nice one mate! I'll try it out and see how it goes, hopefully I still get a bit of damping on the rear rather than a solid bar effect!
-
If I take my mates top mounts too off his MK3 then, will my corrado ones be ok on his car?
-
put MK3 top mounts on the corrado?
-
boinggggggg... Any ideas people? Going to start doing the swap tomorrow!
-
As the title says, done a bit of googling but not got a decent trustworthy answer yet... Any help?

2.0 16v bike carb build. Slow but steady progress.

Looks mint mate! I agree with coilovers too, need to wack some on mine too! As for wheels, I think borbet A's and Schmidt Modern Lines look awsome, and the wheels on your Bora are similar to Dare Motorsports BBS replicas, available in 16" and staggered! -
Make me an offer . Cheers! Going to get some better compound and give her another going over to get it a bit better!
-
It came off mine pretty easily as I used a lot of water with the compound and took my time rather than just attacking it :). Needs another few goes to get it nice, but the bloody thing is covered in key marks from some angry ******* and has a fair few little dings. Once my Caddy is all finished, I might give the Corrado a nice paint to bring it out top notch!
