Hi all, I've had my 16V just over a week now, and alredy the faded red paint has bugged me, so I got hold of a Makita Polisher and set to :). Heres my result after 5 and a half hours today! I'm pretty happy with how it has come up, and hopefully it'll get better if I do it a few more times!

Hi people, I have recently bought myself an H-reg 1.8 16v and since this morning I have been having idle issues with it. This morning I came out ready to leave, I turned the key and it took a bit of persuasion with the accellerator to get the car to start. It then would not idle at all unless I applied pressure to the accelerator pedal. Once the car has warmed up (closer to operating temp) there has been no problem at all, and is able to be turned off and started again with no problem - this only happens when it is cold. Has anybody experienced this, and is anyone able to shed a bit of light on a possible problem? I'm not sure if there is some kind of air by-pass valve type thing that may not be functioning correctly, and I've also heard that a coolant temp. sensor could throw it out of line? While I'm posting, it seems to be disgusting on fuel, and has murdered £110 since thursday last week in fuel under careful driving conditions (I'm a student and it's been snowy). I understand with the engine size, the age of the vehicle and the K-Jet injection it's going to be a wee bit thirsty, but I was'nt expecting it to be quite this bad! It also smells a bit petroly when I start it. I am thinking a fuel filter change might do it some good? Other than that, I'm not sure if there is something not quite right? The engine tends to 'pink' slightly under heavy acceleration above 3500RPM too. Hopefully someone can shed some light on something:scratch:... Cheers, Shaun! :)

Hi people, I'm Shaun. I'm 21 and live in Bedford. I have signed up for information etc but I do not yet own a Rado. I'm currently waiting for my Ford Fiesta to sell so I can buy a Corrado 1.8 16V (baby one for insurance and economy reasons) I have seen pretty local to me, so fingers crossed I will be an owner soon! For anyone who is intrested, I am currently building a MK1 Caddy ABF (2.0 16V MK3) and have been playing the expensive VW game for just over 3 years now, having owned 2 Caddy's can a Polo 6N already. The Caddy is where my heart really lies, but as it wont be a daily car I thought I might as well buy something a bit more fun and 'to my taste' than the Fiesta :D. I am also a member of a fair few online forums for various other vehicles, if you recognise my user ID. I look forward to hopefully getting to know y'all and becoming a Corrado owner soon!
