    Yep,they fit straight on.They have to be gti 1s tho so you have the mfa button
  2. Ended up filling the holes with expanding foam(good fun) then filled over the top.I wouldve gone down the plastic welder route if i couldve found one as i used to use 1 when i worked at f#rd
  3. Funny,ive just read this after doing mine and i used the masking tape and peeled the silver off :( Bit of chrome paint later and they look sweet :mrgreen:
  4. The 9a head had smaller inlet ports to increase torque but bigger exhaust ports i think,but the 1.8 is the otherway round. I believe theres no power gain to be had from swopping either for 1 another.As for the cams,the exhaust cams are the same so your best off using the kr inlet cam.I dont think they ever changed valves sizes on the 16v heads but vw did state that the overall valve surface diameter was a little larger than needed

  6. Id probaly start with a g60 then fit the 16v lump in with lower compression.That way you have the loom and ecu to run digipants injection

  8. i noticed quite a difference just from changing my inlet cam to a modded exhaust 1,so i think your car will feel alot better with those mods!

  11. As long as you use a 9a 2 litre you wont have any probs.The abf though, is taller
  12. Ive smoothed my front bumper and relocated plate,but i stuck to the right size plate to keep the feds happy :lol: Im guna completly smooth it soon and do away with indicators and fogs!

  14. I noticed it bigtime. Heres a few calculations: 17inch wheel+ 2x40mm=overal diameter=approx 20inches 16inch wheel+ 2x45mm=overall diameter=approx 18 and a half inches 15inch wheel+ 2x50mm=overal diameter=approx 19inhces mm is for profile,and you have to times it by 2 as theres 40mm at the top and 40mm at bottom I think this is correct unless anyone else can shoot me down :| If im right the 17ins wheels give approx 1inch bigger overall I couldnt put smaller than 17s on my car cos i think it would look pants! so il sacrafice the loss in power :lol:

    Just roughly,how much did you tweak your wur and which direction?? I was told roughly quarter of a turn anti-clockwise??

  21. So Will a o/s front wing from a j reg g60 fit my g reg 16v ? If its wider would it notice if i had odd wings? Thanks for advice so far

  23. Is it at easy as it sounds?? Find late bonnet,preferably same colour,remove old 1, fit new 1?!?!?!

I spoke to stealth as im booked in end of july and they said its not so much of a problem when you have 17in wheels as you have a bigger rolling radius but if you have coilovers,its worth winding them up a bit or at least make sure they are still adjustable as stealth will do it for you at extra cost.Good luck!
