Got a couple of issues with my alarm/ immobiliser - read lots of threads and these seems pretty common... I have a 95 vr6 with factory fitted immobiliser, issues are: 1. Occasionally car starts and cuts out after 2 seconds. The fault code i have points to the immobiliser stopping the engine start. As i understand this is the factory fit immobiliser causing this issue. Am gonna spray ignition coil connections with wd40 as recommended on here 2. Occassionally car doesn't unlock with key fob and confirmation 'beep' sounds weak. There is an aftermarket laser alarm and immobiliser fitted. I've changed battery in fob, thats about it.. Both these symptons started around the same time so just wondered if/how they are linked? Do these systems work independently of each other? Any help would be really appreciated, the auto electrician who came to look at it was unable to access the ecu with his diagnostics and his advice was "put up with it". Not very helpful!

Not yet fella, the pump i fitted gave me the original fault code plus one extra for good measure. Looking to get the original pump refurbed now...

Hi Rog, had new pump fitted today but still have exactly same fault code so next stop is the ecu...

hmmm, well i'll see what happens when the new pumps in- ive cleared the fault codes and the supply voltage one keeps coming back. Maybe will need new relays. Will let u know how i get on

I've just received an ABS pump off ebay which was damaged in the post - the green plastic pipe has snapped off :( I'm gonna try to send off for repair but before i do- has anyone ever stripped one of these pumps- is this easy to replace?

ok thanks, i have an issue with the left rear outlet valve on the pump. I've activated the ABS on a damp road and also had a brake fluid change a few months ago which didn't resolve this. Before i fork out to get the pump replaced i thought it may be possible the pump wasn't flushed/bled when the rest of the system was done. I'm a bit of a noob to all this so before talking to the garage i'd like to know if this is possible?

Hi, thanks- is this bled last after all the calipers? Can the ABS pump unit be flushed through/ bled without doing the whole system?

During a brake fluid change is the ABS pump also bled/ flushed or is this an additional step?
