Jim 2 Posted October 18, 2004 One of these threads seems to pop up every few months.. now that winter is on the way and people stop going to shows and start tinkering with their cars, i'm interested to see what jobs are planned and what needs sorting over the coming months. Might as well kick it off with my laundry list of stuff... * Respray driver side front wing, attend to rust appearing on drivers door, remove scratch and clean up on drivers side rear quarter. * Charger rebuild and few tweaks maybe - most likely down to the G-Unit for that! * Regasket the front parts (and replace any cracked / broken parts) of my exhaust system to cure leaks and rattles! And get the classic G60 rattly downpipe heatshield silenced!! :) Not a particularly cheap looking list. Anyone else got work outstanding?

Get my tracking sorted (at the back! :( ) Fit the new fuel pump (both of these should be done on Weds...gawd knows how much it's gonna cost in labour tho :( ) I would like to... Fit my Infinity components and stop the door rattles Get her lowered on a decent setup Replace most of the front chassis Clean up the engine bay Fix the bastid rattles in the sunroof and get it re-sprayed Get an alarm fitted (got an immobiliser already!) Probably get a Basslink after I fit the Infinities and realise they've not got enough grunt  Oh and take out a huge loan to pay for it all :( In my almost 4 months of ownership I've spend £3.5k on her so far, (including the insurance excess from the tree incident, but not including buying the car itself). The spending needs to at least slow down, if not stop for a while so my credit card can recover.... Edit: Oh and nice one Darren

Louie Lungbubble 0 Posted October 19, 2004 The winter months for me, will mostly involve finding some kind of H.G Wells/ timelord bloke, who'll take me back a few weeks and let me warn myself to not blindly trust my freindly neighbourhood North West VW specialist, who, after "fixing" a minor gear linkage problem would end up returning my car with the exhaust rattling. Super stiff gear change. And the need to call out the AA once more after being (physically) unable to de-select reverse gear one day in a car park! Add on to that the cost of a plastic towing eye cap which got snapped off in the process of moving my car from A to B makes for a pretty miserable Lungbubble bloke at the min. Ah well..... Could be worse. Could be skint! DOH!!!!!!!!!
Linus Van Pelt 0 Posted October 19, 2004 My current to do list includes getting a new throttle cable, replacing the rear spring packing, shortening the cat to exhaust connector pipe by 1", changing the handbrake dash bulb, determining why the coolant temp guage is undereading, getting a new clip for the rear bumper, finding out why cold starts have recently become really difficult and also trying to work out what this potentially suspension related noise is all about... Probably about due a wheel alignment and my next plan is to upgrade the brakes to G60 fronts and Mk4 Golf rears... ...assuming something else more urgent doesn't turn up before then of course  LvP. Apparently Autoglym Interior Shampoo is good, but TBH I've got some and I've not been wildly impressed. The easiest way to clean it has to be take it out and do it elsewhere though.
