pablo_vr6 0 Posted November 5, 2004 is it a bad sign? bear in mind i had the rear seats down.
theRuler 0 Posted November 5, 2004 a tired pump will whine best when fuel is low a pump with "foreign bodies" in will also be a whiner if it is the pump, it will be clearly audible when you get you head next to it it could whine for months, or it could stop whilst on the motorway. i'd get a replacement planned before you get in trouble. Henny 0 Posted November 5, 2004 change the fuel filter first though... this may cure it totally! 8)
coolrado 0 Posted November 5, 2004 try and have a listen to someones "good" fuel pump just incase the noise is normal and you've only noticed it more because your seats where down  when was your fuel filter changed last?
theRuler 0 Posted November 5, 2004 how do you change the filter anyway?
Geo 0 Posted November 5, 2004 The pumps always make some noise. I thought mine was knackered so I bought a new one and when I fitted it there was no difference in noise levels at all. So as coolrado said, try and have a listen to someone elses pump before changing your own.
dr_mat 0 Posted November 5, 2004 You will hear it much more clearly with the seats down than normally. Don't worry unduly if it's not too intrusive when you've put all that padding back up...
