80 mile round trip home yesterday and got 35mpg on the MFA :)

 

drove like a total sissy mind but nice to see the raddo can give some approxomation of economy :)

I can sit at 80mph in my Golf Vr6 highline with ZR2 charger and get around 32mpg.....

Not difficult to do especially if you plan ahead and dont get bogged down by slower traffic forcing you to accelerate upto speed again :wink:

I got 38mpg on a 400 mile round trip to elgin an back.

Think I kept it about 75 most of the way.

Had 36MPG with 3 passengers going from Fife to Traquair (in the Scottish Borders) and back via Edin town centre. That was with normal (VR) driving with a quite a few 3rd gear overtakes.

 

I'm sure 40mpg has to be possible if you're really careful.

You can get it right up by coasting instead of using engine braking.

Don't have that much of a problem, but I've only got 2.0l of normally aspirated engine :(

 

Best I've got out of mine was 43.7MPG...that was with the sail up, out of gear, and down hill! :wink:

Best I've seen is 41.8MPG and was up and down hill. Was only a 20-25 minute drive so probably doesn't count. Kept the revs below 2K the whole way and didn't do any harsh accellerating or decellerating. I was very proud of that (and skint hence why I was driving like a buffoon). 8)

Only had my G60 a couple of weeks, and was well chuffed with 32.6Mpg averaged on a 70mile round trip on a night out.. :D

 

Mind you , my previous car was a Mazda RX7 TwinTurbo, and was lucky to get 15mpg hehe!!

how's 44.8mpg on a 40 mile trip to Guildford in a G60... drove like a complete pus*y and nearly ran into several vehicles in front of me due to not using the brakes or getting it above 2500rpm... but it's possible. Back to the usual 32mpg now, and running smoothly!
