CazzaVR 0 Posted November 16, 2004 Ooh, you lucky thing! Might have to give this a go!
greegs 0 Posted November 16, 2004 I would get in there quick as I think the list is getting very long, especially for the sti model.
samm_cvr6 0 Posted November 16, 2004 just filled out the form. Does appointment just mean you go and pick it up? because it didn't have a box next to it like the others saying "24 hour test drive". Fingers crossed, I fancy giving it a bit of a thrash for 24 hours and seeing what it can do...
khurrado 0 Posted November 16, 2004 no more left for the wrx sti great Admin Edit: The swear filter is there for a reason - don't try and get round it
greegs 0 Posted November 16, 2004 I filled out form online on sunday afternoon, hadn't heard anything by this morning so I phoned above number. Spoke to Dan who was very helpful and basically pulled my file out of the queue and dealt with all the details on phone. I think only certain dealers have the sti model khurrado. Try calling them. Good Luck 8)

greegs 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Sh*t that was good fun  Test drive was re-organised for yesterday as car I was supposed to be getting was sold so I got this one instead ; I so want a scooby now, seriously thinking about selling my VR
Geo 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Very nice. It's quite rare and refreshing to see an actual engine as opposed to a piece of sculpted plastic when you pop the bonnet on a new car. 8)
CazzaVR 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Well, how does it compare then? I know they're completely different, but is really that much faster etc? Signed up for this at MPH:04 the other day- haven't heard anything yet. You have to be over 30 to test drive the STI, and am I right in saying you have to pay a £500 damage deposit? too hot 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Corrado still looks far better Scooby looks as if it was designed by 5 year olds, big wings big scoops.Too fast Too furious for me :) :) greegs, Give us a shout if you are selling your Corrado as my mate Scott was well impressed with it at the rolling road day 8)
greegs 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Well, how does it compare then? I know they're completely different, but is really that much faster etc? Signed up for this at MPH:04 the other day- haven't heard anything yet. You have to be over 30 to test drive the STI, and am I right in saying you have to pay a £500 damage deposit? I loved it! Going up through the gears was something else the pull was unreal, although I thought it might be a bit quicker than it actually was-the car I drove had only done 781 miles! The last turbo'd car I owned or drove was probably an escort rs turbo. Turbo's have certainly come on since then-next to no lag. Driving round town I couldn't believe how many people stare. Not sure if they are thinking that's a nice car or look at that ugly thing.(the car!) As for the handling-thought it handled quite well but was a bit scared to push it-this model costs £24995. You do have to be over 30 to drive an sti and they take £500 off your credit card which you get back at end, plus there is a 150 miles limit too. Was the mph04 show any good? Corrado still looks far better Scooby looks as if it was designed by 5 year olds, big wings big scoops.Too fast Too furious for me greegs, Give us a shout if you are selling your Corrado as my mate Scott was well impressed with it at the rolling road day I agree the styling is a bit ott that scoop is huge, coming down the motorway just after i picked it up the sun was out and I kept thinking the police were behind as the sun was reflecting off the rear spoiler kind of giving a blue flash in my mirror! I could live with the styling though to be honest. I'll give you a shout re corrado i'm checking out some impreza's just now. :D
CazzaVR 0 Posted November 23, 2004 greegs, MPH:04 was good. Didn't think the actual show bit was as good as last year- although it was a bit more 'glitzy'. Nice to sit in loads of new cars though 8) Was totally underwhelmed with the new GTI- just plain dull, and the gearshift felt very vague and sloppy. As with last year, I was totally impressed with the RX-8. Build quality is excellent, and it's actually pretty interesting inside. RS6 was nice too :) Don't think I'll be going next year- this year's was just too similar to the last one. Motor Show instead I think. too hot, agree with you about the styling- think the C still looks way better 8)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 23, 2004 I'm sorry, but looking at those two pics, the Corrado looks waaaay better. My mate's got an Impreza in that shape with a 290bhp ECUTEK remap and it's actually quite boring to be honest.
samm_cvr6 0 Posted November 23, 2004 I prefer the light blue/ice colour Impreza. The C does look better but then the Impreza is probably a lot quicker so depends what you prefer I guess.
'Rado 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Unfortuantely just shows you how good the design of the Corrado is comparingthe two side by side - although the Corrado is 16 years young it still looks more special and coherant than the 'orrible looking Scoob  Dont get me wrong - i thin kfor the money the WRX is a great car - shame it looks the way it does though... As for perfomance i wouldnt have thought there would be that much in it :?: - 265ps through a 4wd transmission will equate to around 200 at the wheels on a good day - a decent VR6 Corrado should be around 160 at the wheels and is alot lighter overall... Good luck in whatever you choose 8) Pete.
GIXXERUK 0 Posted November 23, 2004 my mate at work has got a scooby exactly the same as that, they sound incredible 8) glad to see the vr still looks compared to the scooby, yours is looks really mint 8)
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 23, 2004 It's quite interesting really as matey with his 290 brake doesn't pull away from me as much as I'd have thought he would have. Sure he does pull away in 3rd from 50 mph say, but only by 2 or 3 car lengths and then 268s kick in  Must be the weight......his 1350Kg is playing my 1210kg + 400 rolls of dynamat :D And another mate in his Cupra R is so jarred off that my VR Ps all over it he's selling it. £12.5K, 1 yr old, 25K if anyone's interested? Recaro seats too 8) Anyway, I love what the STI can do and my VR wouldn't stand a cat's chance in hell of matching it, but it's good to see the good old C hasn't been completey resigned to the history books just yet :) For a proper Subaru, look no further than the 25R...absolutely awesome machine.....but it has the Evo FQ 400 to compete with :|
bigbob 0 Posted November 23, 2004 i still hold the opinion that the Impreza is the most stupid looking car on the road today. but i wont go into it.
chrishill 0 Posted November 23, 2004 looking at the last two photos theres no comparison in the styling, the C outshines the WRX in every way! just think what you could do to your C for 24k? ooooo mummy!
trebor 0 Posted November 23, 2004 Funny really The chef in my local pub has a black 03 wrx/sti scooby thing.. Hes had it from new Spent over 7 thousand on the engine. remaps and bigger turbo stuff.. Its like 500bhp 0.60 in 4.3 seconds... A very quick car. He said to me the other day. That he wants to sell it and buy rear wheel drive BMW - M-series.... I wish the corrado was rear wheel drive
