Heres the new play thing!! Just picked up about an hour ago with a few problems already. :( It ran out of fuel at the end of the road when picking it up then it was running really roughly and would not pick up the revs. The test drive I had on Sat showed this up slightly but I just dismissed it as it not being used for a while. I went for a small journey and noticed that the exhaust manifold was glowing when I got back plus it was eating fuel so I think it has skipped a tooth on the cambelt. Not to worry as I was having that replaced straight away and it idles ok. Giving it a good service this weekend so should be on the road next week. Just in time for the snow!!! :twisted:

 

Completley standard with about 82k miles on the clock. The car has not really been used for the last 3 years as the guy owning it was done for DD then never bothered to re-insure. It was a 75 year old that had it up to about 65k miles then the guy I bought it off was the 2nd owner. There are a few bits that need tidying up and the Estoril wheels are pretty scabby. Just need to get rid of the Red one now.

coullstar, I'd like to buy this please if it's still for sale. I have a few logistical things to sort out (insurance quotes and the like), so could you email me to let me know if it's still for sale please ( mailto:[email protected] )? I would love to collect it this weekend, but I'm going to be on call so the earliest I could do would be the evening of Friday 27th or that weekend. Could you also email me details of the Alarm and a list of mods that would affect insurance (if any different to the ones above) so I can start the hunt for insurance

Wait till I give it a good going over. Silver is my favourite colour and has been for many years. One thing that I thought was odd is that it has a straight rear bench. Looks odd and I prefer the seperated.

Looks nice man 8) My old valver had the rear bench as well (in fact I thought they all did :oops: ). You get used to it and it does mean that it's possible to fit 3 people in the back (at a pinch), or 3 people total and all the gear for a week at le Mans...

Mine has a flat rear seat too. I think it all 2.0 16v Corrados had this, plus maybe 8v too. Do a search, there is a thread on here wihich shows the trim differences over the years.

 

Coullstar, how do you find the 2.0 compared to the 1.8? Looks very good in Silver. 8)

Bodywork and paintwork looks really clean though! Looking good. Just a valet inside and a wheel refurb and it will look 8)

 

Can you not stick the G60 BBS' from the other car onto this one, would look excellent!

G60's are going with the car. I quite like the wheels. It really needs going over first to make sure everything is tickity boo first then some suspension will be on the cards. I hate the standard ride height!

 

If I was going to put a set of wheels on it would be a set of 8x16" Design 90's with anthracite centres.

My L1994 2.0 16v used to have the flat rear bench and no first aid kit or warning triangle.. think it was definately a 2.0 16v 'option' thing to have the centre arm rest / first aid kid and triangle!

IIRC the centre armrest was optional on ALL 2.0 16v's and 8v's but was standard fit on ALL VR6's :wink:

New wheels. 7x15 ET24 BBS's from a 325 Sport. They look ok but I didnt get the original bolts and I dont think the VW match.

Needs lowering badly.

Very cool - they do suit the Corrado really well. Definately need some BBS centre badges now though just to finish it off. The ones off the G60 basically snap into those caps without any problems...

BTW I have found out that you need 60deg taper bolts to fit the wheels and they need to be ~8mm longer.

Winter wheels now on and as you can see its defiently winter!! Wheels have been detailed black and silver instead of usual polished look. Chrome BBS caps on the way for the others.
