Can anything else go wrong? Door handle now!

After all the recent fun and games with my C, the missus went to get in the passenger side the other day and the door wouldn't open. Opens from the inside no probs, but the handle on the outside does nothing. Is it a common problem :?: Is it worth doin the passat door handle mod if I've got to replace the handle anyway? If so, is it easy to do in the dark? Only have week day evenings to work on the C....and no garage to get the car in :(

Replacing the handle is not too hard.

However, with the wiring, you have to get the door card off, to disconnect the cables inside.

You can repair the handles too, with a kit sold on this very forum.

 

either way that door card is coming off!!! second hand handles in good condition are few and far between. best bet is to buy the repair kit from dave

Not an easy job to do in the dark then! Any idea how long it takes to do? Friend of mine is picking some passat door handles up for me on Saturday. What does he need to get? Just the handle or handle and mech? I've also got some chrome locks of an Audi that need to go on, does that complicate the job? :?

Handle and mech.

 

About 30 minutes a side if you don't hit a problem.
