PhatVR6 0 Posted December 19, 2004 MY old rear seat was on of the later flat ones, , but my new trim (which I haven't collected fully) has the centre arm rest what does the hinge bolt to? just the centre console? of is there a bracket welded to the shell for it? coullstar 0 Posted December 19, 2004 It bolts down onto 4 bolts on the chassis if I remember right. Havent looked under my flat bench either so I take they are not there?
Phil K 0 Posted December 19, 2004 As far as I know the armrest is bolted to the plastic trim just behind the rear ashtray. I have a feeling that there was some kind of bracket that goes between the hinge and the center consol but can't recall for sure.. hope that helps a bit... good luck

VR6 0 Posted December 20, 2004 s***, your right!! Its the seats the bolts to the chassis. The seats don't bolt to the chassis though - they just clip in. It does actually bolt onto the chassis IIRC.
Phil K 0 Posted December 20, 2004 there's a pic of the seat bracket here --> http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... 0&start=
pablo_vr6 0 Posted December 20, 2004 IIRC the centre console has 4 holes which the armrest screws through into the chassis. so you have to remove the armrest to get the console out but the armrest actually screws to the chassis
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 20, 2004 Yep, the whole plastic transmission tunnel cover has to come out before you can get to the armrest hinge, and yes, it's bolted to the transmission tunnel with 4 self small cross head bolts. The hinge is literally under the rear ashtray. There is a screw under the ashtray which allows you to seperate the rear half of the tunnel cover from the main handbrake section, but it's git to get at. If you can get that out, you might be able to just lift out the ash tray bit of the cover and get to the armrest hinge that way.
pablo_vr6 0 Posted December 20, 2004 if you lift the armrest up cant you just unscrew and remove the armrest? Im pretty sure you dont have to mess with the tunnel trim.
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted December 20, 2004 Actually, I think you might be right....ignore me.... I was getting muddled up with my having to remove all that to lay some RCA cables, LOL!..... I'll have a look when I go out to the car for a fag in a bit.
