Swompy 0 Posted February 13, 2010 Changed the throttle cable today. It feels so much smoother pulling away feels faster  might just be me tho 8) easy job? Ya it was fairly easy, slightly fiddly tho. The hardest part is getting in the right position under the dash so you can see what your doing. a good tip for getting the light blue plug back in the hole is to put the rubber bung in first then incert the cable into the cabbin. Philmo 0 Posted February 13, 2010 Finished modifying a second hand headlight loom to include a direct earth wire from battery to each lamp socket, male/female spade links to connect the sidelights and the earths on the existing OEM harness to maximise earth availability - might as well for the sake of a few inches of wire + few connectors. See below: Image0055.jpg[/attachment:3bgtlcpv] Now fitted and what a brilliant result!
Jim 2 Posted February 14, 2010 Fitted new wiper blades (the ones on there are about 6 years old!) and they made a heck of a difference, a replacement handbrake handle and a trimsport strut brace :)
dragon green 4 Posted February 14, 2010 Fitted new wiper blades (the ones on there are about 6 years old!) and they made a heck of a difference, a replacement handbrake handle and a trimsport strut brace :) Did you have to trim the shelves, to get the brace to fit ?
Jim 2 Posted February 14, 2010 Nope. Went on fine without trimming anything - seems to be a good design. Though I've found now that the parcel shelf catches on the brace when you open the boot... only way to open the boot fully is for the shelf to lift out of the recesses it's held into in the parcel shelf supports. A little annoying but not the end of the world :)

coullstar 0 Posted February 20, 2010 Took it off the axle stands its been sitting on for a while, backed it out the garage then back in again after fitting my towbar to the Mk4. A V6 with no exhaust does not sound as good as I thought it would.

Critical_Mass 10 Posted February 20, 2010 Removed the wiper mechanism due to the operating rod goign from the wiper motor to the first wiper popping off. Left with no wipers whilst its raining is PITA.
