How about some pictures of our members ?

Recommended Posts

1st pic is of me and my mum and dad in about 1950  (yes! 1950)

We were all born in Dundee, but my father had a job in Leeds at this time.

The pub was "The Vespers", Kirkstall, Leeds. Idyllic memories.

I havnt been to Leeds for 50 years. Anyone know if its still there?

2nd and 3rd pics were taken in about 1965, when I was 20.

One, taken amid Dundee tenements, proves that Rick Astley stole our look! We never got a penny!

The other taken at Warfield, nr Bracknell shows me on an alleged 3rd place Derby horse. However, as my then girlfriend's (now wife's) father, the owner, was an Irishman, and horse trader I'm not totally convinced.

Sorry, it was too tempting

You could look a little happier about the engine mount, but then I would have wanted it in black rather than beige too :)

Must resist urge to make comment about daughter...

That's OK dinkus.

Just for you and the others who are disappointed at the lack of girls' pictures (not girly pictures! ), here is another - she'll probably kill me if she finds out, though.

The Vesper Gate pub is still there. I pass it quite regularly. I havent been in it for a few years though. On sundays the carpark is chokkas so I assume its not doing to bad. For those that are interested I found this link.

Many thanks for that Matt buz. Grateful for your interest. I have tentatively planned to visit the area next year, coupled with an overnight stop in the Dales.

For those of you interested in steam engines (i.e trainspotters   ) we used to live in Queenswood Drive near the Leeds/Knaresborough(?) line and I once saw the Flying Scotsman (loco - not train) from our window. The nearby grassland and woods were often set ablaze by passing steam engines - not a thing many (or any?) of you will have witnessed alongside today's railways.

Appears an interesting and unusual company to work for dinkus. :o 8)

Not what you'd expect your average 22yr old to be doing, but hey :)

The company that make them also do a huge load of other video work too, I get to go film this mental beast again next week - http://www.rst-v8.com :D:D:D The lap in the video actually broke the lap record by about 16 seconds. Not bad as it was the same guy driving it as held the record originally.

Dinkus is unusual full stop!

I don't know what you mean ;) Oh and my hair is currently neon red...
