Slight parking damage

Recommended Posts

So I got my C back to break this week and got to see the damage I managed to do to her

I knew it was bad, but when we started taking it apart and I saw the damage up close it's made me realise how lucky I was to walk at all, let alone walk away from the accident.

In the mean time, some pictures...

Do you have a driver's side front wing available?

LOL

Actually yes I do, it's off a very rare late spec Karmann edition Corrado VR6 in Aqua Blue Pearl. It's got a slight parking ding, but it should polish out.

And before you ask Henny, I'm afraid the passenger wing is fudged as well. The bonnet shifted across and put a big (now rusty) crease in it :(

Seriously, I might like a ABS ECU.

I need to VAG-COM mine to see whatsup.

I know my ABS rings and sensors are fine, so something's up somewhere....

Just got a complete moonroof for £65! 8) I'll ask him to keep an eye out for a wing for me... 8)

Look closely at the wing damage, you can see how hard the impact was, you can almost read the wing

I reckon I was probably doing about 50 when I actually hit the pole.

I totalled the pole too though, so I called it a draw. Good job it was wooden though, I don't suppose I'd have snapped it clean in half it it was steel :?

It was carrying power lines too, so that coulda been interesting if it had actually fallen over. Luckily it didn't cos the car was mircaculously holding it up. I didn't half get out quick when I saw the pole right in front of me and creaking as it swayed tho.

A very scary experience that I don't want to ever repeat. Be careful out there kids.

Going too fast round a bend in the wet :?

Yup. I was going round a right hander in the wet, back started to slide out, I seriously over-corrected and spun into the pole.

If it'd been at any other point on the road I'd have ended up in a field

If it'd been a foot or so further forward I've have ended up in a field

If it'd been a foot or so further back I'd be dead.

As I said, it was a very scary experience and I wouldn't want anyone to go through that. I'm just amazed that I walked away with nothing more than a slightly stiff neck.

Ah,that would do it......

Shame. :(

You must've felt-

a)Like an absolute puddin'

b)Gutted

c)Sore

But not necessarily in that order.......

Elephant haven't exactly been quick off the mark to do anything, it's been like pushing water uphill. I got there in the end tho

And yeah, probably but I'm not sure exactly what or when yet...

your trackings out!

Tell me about it, its going to be a nightmare to get back within tollerances.

The floor is so bent the car wouldnt sit level on the axel stands, he's split the seam along the inside of the drivers sill, shattered an engine mount bracket with the subframe.

Lucky boy indeed
