bristolbaron 10 Posted May 5, 2005 Well, after six months the time has come already to part with my car :( Since buying it i've started a new job where im now travelling 500 miles per week so can't afford to keep the car as a daily driver, and can't run two cars. I'm selling tonight and fingers crossed pick up my new toy straight after. Sooo.... guess what i'm getting?..

randal 0 Posted May 5, 2005 Ah I do 500 miles a week in a valver, getting 410-425 miles out of a tank mostly motorway driving. Don't sell it... you know it makes sense. :D
coullstar 0 Posted May 5, 2005 I thought about getting a more sensilbe car with good mileage but ended up buying a Mk3 VR. Its got 5dr mind.
gradeAfailure 0 Posted May 5, 2005 I already own a "sensible" car - and am doing my damndest to change it into an un-sensible one! Ach, just shove a TDi lump in the 'Rado... ;)
samm_cvr6 0 Posted May 5, 2005 I have found myself in the same boat as you. To be honest, I can afford the petrol although it doesn't make sense. I do atleast 600 miles a week motorway mileage but I can get about 33mpg out of the VR on a good run which is acceptable, but in 1 years time she would of done another 30k+ miles! Jim, hows the tdi? bet you'r glad you got the pd with the 6 speed box ay? bets on how long before it's remapped? I may well get one myself
bristolbaron 10 Posted May 5, 2005 Bad news, the change didn't go quite too plan, guy buying mine didnt turn up or answer my calls :( The buy of the new car should still be going ahead, I'm sticking VAG, but thats all i'll say for now..
Mr Brown 0 Posted May 6, 2005 .................HIPPEEE................TOSSPOT..................G60?
bristolbaron 10 Posted May 10, 2005 .................HIPPEEE................TOSSPOT..................G60? Correct!! Not that good a guess, as i've bought it from YOU!! It's a 91 G60 with 99k. New charger fitted last summer after old one blew up a day after Mr Brown bought the car! It's got electric Recaros and FSH. The car is more economical than the 16v.. im getting 33 mpg not 28! randal 0 Posted May 10, 2005 mmm grey cloth recaros... *drool* Ooo, you've got the late spec bonnet too. Very nice, do love C's in that colour. Can't believe it's more economical than a valver though surely?! I get about 420 out of a tank doing mostly motorway miles, from what I've heard the G60 is a wee bit thirstier than that. Still, you've justified the thread title!
fatherted 0 Posted May 10, 2005 First time I have seen an interior and seats in that colour. Very nice - makes a refreshing change. Congratulations on the teaser. I hate reading about people selling their C's for something more economical / sensible. Makes me wonder if I am doing the right thing...
Bally 0 Posted May 11, 2005 Nice one.. although with a few mods on the G60 a 16v would be better on fuel..
Walesy 0 Posted May 11, 2005 thats a niiiiiiiiice looking 'c' dude......glad to see you're keeping it real!
Neverite 0 Posted May 11, 2005 nicely done old boy... very nice g60. nicer than the valver for sure. so after having both models... hows thedrive difference im intrigued.
Walesy 0 Posted May 11, 2005 also whats happening to your vulver?
bristolbaron 10 Posted May 11, 2005 Was a difficult choice to make, do i spend 4k plus on a half decent Tdi, or spend less on a g60, and waste the extra on fuel! After driving the G, there was no other option. Maybe i'll regret it if something goes wrong, but in the mean time i'm having fun! Just not ready yet for a 'sensible' car. Fuel definately seems better, although too soon really to tell. Neverite, the basic difference is the G has the extra power in all the places you wish the 16v does! Due to standard exhaust on this and remus on valver its loads quieter too, which is nice for long journeys. disatvantage is shorter gear ratios. (changing from 2nd at 55) corradowales, valver for sale - see link on my sig.
