check your fuses for the headlights (although it could also be the switch)

Brake lights sounds like a dodgy brake light switch or a damaged wire...

dannyc, if it's got an uprated loom and your headlights will not work on dipped, then it could be the relay is bust (that was the problem on mine).

Welcome to the forum,

i've checked the fuses and their all ok but i can't see the brake light switch. i was told its behind the pedal and that the pin could of come out, is that right?

Try lifting the pedal to see if the lights go out, it could have dropped. Ive seen it before, though it was on a fiesta!!

the pedal won't lift at all

i've taken all of the trim out so i can have a good look around and i've found quit a few diconnected plugs :? i've put two back together that look right but they haven't made a difference to my situation.

can anyone tell me exactly what the brake switch looks like and the relay for the front lights. i haven't got a workshop manual yet.

whats happening is when i brake the tail lights come on and when i put my lights on the brake lights come on.
