That's pretty sh1tty of JustMatz to give it to someone else. Did you pay for it advance? I saw the JustMatz lot at Inters and didn't think much of them to be honest.....

Not very sporting but contractually within his rights as you hadn't paid for it.

Buy it from somewhere else.

I really dont know what happened. I was told to call them about 20mins before i get there so i did. The guy i was dealing with said bad news........someone came down and spoke to the other guy about the engine cover, begged him for it, he kept saying it was taken but the guy said he needed it for the show this weekend so i guess he gave in.

What if my rado was actually on the road and i wanted it for the show hey??

sod them off and go somewhere else.

That is a lame excuse.

Plenty of people who will read this link and not go there as a result. :D

I'd be telling them were they can stick their engine cover about now.

Other people will make them 2, just go somewhere else.

Thats unlucky! Do Trimsport do one?

Had a look on their site and it doesn't seem to be on there but it's prob worth giving them a call as I'm sure they will be able to do it or know someone that can 8)

Justmatz aren't that bad. They sold quite a few of us those Corrado Key Rings.

I agree it wasn't very fair to do that to a customer but I'm sure the same thing has happen to others with trimsport et al.

Oh, and you'll be lucky to make a battery cover with £20 worth of SS :)

Really? So how come Audioscape decked out an entire boot build with the stuff for about £50 then?

You just need to know where to get it....

industrial scrap yards usually have loads of sheet stainless in, usually still with the protective film attached

and you can get it pretty cheap from some places anyway

its bending it without scratching or denting it which is the hard bit

A stainless steel battery cover in high grade SS costs about £35 once its been cut and bent into shape. (And weights about 2 kg!)

The VR covers are somewhat larger than that.

If you can make one yourself, fair play. You'll be a better man than I. ;)

2Kg!! No wonder it's expensive, they're using heavy gauge plate! 2 bags of sugar in weight for a batt cover is a trifle excessive!

You only need 1mm plate to make up engine covers. Stainless is heavier than mild but it's stronger, so you can afford to use thinner guage....which is why stainless exhausts boom.

I personally couldn't be bothered to make them, but I know somewhere that could for less than £199+VAT!
