Standard or modified

Recommended Posts

well i was having some thought yesterday

ive been modding cars for 7/8 years now and everytime ive finished a car i wish i'd left it alone

so what do you prefer, modified cars, or standard cars

im not talking standard micras either, nice cars, corrados for instance

Mod the parts that should have been done at the factory - Corrado suspension, decent alloys etc then subtle mods only.

I've noticed over the past few years my mods only consist of suspension and maybe a nice set of wheels....long have the days of endless mods ended for me....must be an age thing...

i prefer a car to look standard, but nice enough to make people think; 'I bet that goes alright'. Rather than a load of chrome, 3 spoke alloys and undercar neons.

Modified everytime.... a standard Corrado that was good 10 years ago just won't feel the same now, so at the very least the suspension needs modifying, but not necessarily lowered to a huge degree.

standard body

modded engine/chassis all the way, same on all cars in my opinion

not just vw's

minor body and interior tweaks, quality suspension upgrades and serious engine power upgrades are the way my thinking goes these days... 8)

modded definitely ( i dont mean goal posts on the rear tho) :-)

tasteful mods , not the body though

suspension ,bushes, leather etc the stuff i would do anyway but would save me ££ if its done ;-)

subtle mods that are undetectable to people who arent enthusiasts, things like flaired arches, audi handles, de-wipered rear, clear repeaters and so on are all fine and dandy in my book, they just bring the car up to date. IMO the corrado doesnt need much styling to improve it, as has been said, lowering + the right alloys does wonders.
