TheWizardofOdds 0 Posted October 19, 2005 I've needed a new rear VW badge since the day i bought my VR(the old one had chrome scraped off). Last week i went to the local scrappies to get a part for her indoors' car.I got a badge from an old passat thrown in(same size as original).Being an absolute novice as far as car maintenance goes,i pulled off the old badge and tried to fit my 'new' one.Making a dog's dinner of removing the old one,the blue plug thingys that hold the pins at the back of the badge in place are broke/loose. Can i buy these plugs from VAG garage? Another thing, having looked at new badges on e-bay,they tell you that the badge they sell is stuck onto you're existing one.Is this right? They just look like a complete badge with rubber surround etc. Also,do these badges come with the holding plug i've been banging on about? Sorry for the long-winded explanation, but this is doing my head in. Any help would be appreciated.

mr.ots 10 Posted October 19, 2005 I can't track down the receipt but I don't think the badge was any more than a tenner. and the blue clips were 36p each (x2)

TheWizardofOdds 0 Posted October 20, 2005 I thought the dealers no longer stocked the rear badge in corrado size?

ross.taylor 0 Posted October 20, 2005 Stealer cost & part number?
mr.ots 10 Posted October 20, 2005 Part no. 357 853 601, as I said before I don't think they cost any more than a tenner from the stealers. The part no for the blue gromet that the badge pushes into is 191 853 615 A, these cost 36p each and you need two. The ones on the car will probably break when you remove/insert the badge

craigowl 0 Posted August 25, 2006 Badge grommets are available from ECP, too, at 37p each, plus VAT. Their part no. is 855440450. I got some yesterday. They are black and the badge lugs are a reassuring tight fit in them.
