ben16v 0 Posted November 20, 2005 the mark 3 polo was 1.3 i think, a mate had one with cams exhaust etc was nippy (compared to my 1litre polo )
bristolbaron 10 Posted November 20, 2005 75 bhp, 1.3 injection. lovely runaround and okay for long distances, take well to a pipercross filter and full s/s exhaust. if the price is right go for it! try porka.net or clubpolo.co.uk for more info! my old one:

SteveVPK 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Dunno then, it just said GT Coupe on the back, not that clued up on polos!!!
bristolbaron 10 Posted November 20, 2005 it was prob a GT, they're not slow. I went up against my mates 1.8 16v when i had my polo, and he only gained on the straights. round corners i'd nip him.
carpy25 0 Posted November 20, 2005 H plate would be a mark 2 if it is a mark 2 it's a coupe" s " carb 1.3 55bhp coupe "s" were badged as GT's in the rest of europe i think my GT's quick for a 1.3 but it's NO match for my corrado Rob
dinkus 10 Posted November 21, 2005 Remember the Polos weigh bugger all (750kg or so) compared with the rather lardy Corrado that's around 1100kg...
Phil K 0 Posted November 21, 2005 There's a lad round Guildford way with a white Polo GT with a tuned G40 lump in it - may have been him if you were having trouble keeping up!?! Was it loud?
SteveVPK 0 Posted November 21, 2005 Wasn’t overly loud but it did have a after market exhaust on it, couldn’t say what type though
Lippy 0 Posted November 21, 2005 you weren't accelerating with the middle pedal were you? ;)

I think he lives down my folks' road - had a couple of smiles and waves off him when he's seen the 'rado and 'rat parked outside, but not said hi yet... It looks pretty nice actually...! dub envy 0 Posted November 22, 2005 A GT with an airfilter/decat/s/s exhaust/chip will take many cars by suprise. Not Rapid, but no slouch either. Have seen many Polos with that spec pushing 80-95bhp on rolling roads! Doesn't take much to work out that 800kgs + 90bhp = smiles!!
trev-b 0 Posted November 22, 2005 Mark 3 polos were made on an H plate too i had a black GT on an H reg.
