This has me thinking. It seems cheap for a sender unless it's the type that has only a single connection and no built in pressure swtich.

 

 

I was wondering about that too. Mine is a big old VDO dual pole thing that was bloomin expensive for what it is, but if the cheaper one does the job, fair enough!

Is there a separate mounting panel available for this, as seen in one of RW1's postings?

 

Not a VW item in my case. Hand crafted unit from electronic fibreglass PCB board. Have templates for both early and new dash styles as they are slightly different.

 

VW's one for two separate gauges goes in the storage at the bottom where the dual gauge goes.

Have no fear, the vagparts one is the dual pole sender. I confirmed this when I ordered mine today! Should have ordered it with the guage panel in the first place but I didn't think they'd be able to get them so thought Id wait for it to turn up first!

I'm very interested in this, but would prefer to fit the gauges in place of the ash tray which I never use, rather than under it in the space which I find useful.

Dual gauge is a 10 bar sender unless you've got other ideas.

boss in work reversed across my bumper - you can hardly notice it when its dirty (90%) but it is a fair old scrape with the bumper slightly deformed.

 

Insurance job, new bumper, brackets and respray all in about 800 quids worth of work. Only because she wasn't concentrating!

 

Just got to put up with a Fiesta for two days, nearly fell out of the seat going round a bend this morning. NO lateral support whatsoever!

Well i've got mine through today, and well impressed for once!! I have no idea how to fit it, but heres some picks. I've included a pick of where i assume i need to bolt the 2 pol sender if anyone can confirm. Also, is there already a connector behind the consule that fits the 4 pins on the back of the unit or do you have to make your own up?? £91+vat gauges £17+ for sender. I actually bought 2 senders incase anyone needed one, not sure why tbh!? Anyway 8) :D 8) :D 8) :D 8) :D

Fitted mine today, I only had a single pole sender, but on a valver you don't need to use a T piece, there is a spare hole on the oil cooler blanked by a bolt!

lucky get! how did you do the dash board bit then mate? do you need to make up connectors and drill through the back of the centre consule??
