steve_16v 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Personally if I was going to spend £10K on a car there's no way it would be on a clio, UK Supra twin-turbo all the way! 326bhp, 0-60 in 4.5 ... or a french shopping trolley?
jedi-knight83 0 Posted January 12, 2006 its just the factory fit alloy wheels I cant bear! i quite like the wheels actually. especially in anthracite... What about a Supra, Skyline or Rx7? supra.... too big and expensive to run. skyline... to jap... rx7... have you been inside one... worst designed interior in the world! they should have made it a 2 seater! - i'll shut up, then not aimed at you ;) Get the cup version instead. well the cup version is only 50kg lighter and 0.2 secs quicker to 60 but alot rarer. the normal 182 is easier to find and 90% of them have the cup suspension upgrade and cup spoiler upgrade so apart from 50kg.... an upgraded 182 is the same as a 182 cup! jedi-knight83 0 Posted January 12, 2006 R32 MK4 GOLF very nice and high on my list of next cars to own... still about £15-16k for a nice one though. even buy a mint C and put a big engine in it for £10k done the corrado already... reluctant to buy one again. sciroccotune 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Well I like the orange ( i also love nug yellow!!!!) and don’t see anything wrong with a the French C (see what I did there ), i would however get a newer on as they look spot on However im sure the higher spec of the 182 will make up for any misgivings I have about the lower models. I have a mate that now drives 300bhp+ roos and radicals and he used to swear by the Williams so the 182 is basically just the replacement. go for it (only in orange!) jedi-knight83 0 Posted January 12, 2006 when you say get a newer one??? the one im looking at is a 2005 54 plate ... cant get much newer... they stoped making them in sept
Jim 2 Posted January 12, 2006 or a french shopping trolley? You know its all relative? To us Corrado's might be the best thing since sliced bread but to those slightly better off or those more able to afford 25-30k on a motor, they are just another old VW.. the Clio certainly gets praise heaped on it by the motoring journos in much the same way that the Rado does/did and think the 'shopping trolley' nickname is not particularly deserved to be honest. sciroccotune 0 Posted January 12, 2006 yeah sorry i meant the new shape, but dont think they do the 182 or a 'sporty' one yet, but in not to up on my french cars. still go for it (orange all the way!!)
jedi-knight83 0 Posted January 12, 2006 oh i get yah... yeah the new shape (clio 3 i think they call it) is just out and is a very good car.. but not hot hatch version yet Jim, indeed... compared to the s3 the corrado was certainly a bit 'trolly esq' i still think its people being too scared to try something new
Dutch24V 0 Posted January 12, 2006 done the corrado already... reluctant to buy one again. What are you doing here then?? Dutch

Banana Man 0 Posted January 12, 2006 If the audi rs4 and 6 are out of your league how about an audi s2 coupe they still look great, handle well being 4wd, the dash is well set and the price is right and they're 230bhp std! I'll just say take one for a test drive they're great fun!!!

jedi-knight83 0 Posted January 12, 2006 if you start with a fantastically beautiful one you will only regret it in later life when the more recent girl friends just don’t shape up! haha been there my friend... had a stunner 20 yr old but she was a bit of a pain in the arse.... most other girls look boring and plain compared to her though :( (good job the current GF doesnt read this board ;) ) BACK TO CARS... your problem is you have peaked to early look at all those cool cars you have had cool carss come and go. it doesnt mean you need to keep getting a better car as eventually you will be driving a veyron and thinking... shit.. what next... there are enough good cars out there to provide a steady stream of 1 per year and if you go up and down a bit ...so what audi s2 coupe they still look great, handle well being 4wd, the dash is well set and the price is right and they're 230bhp std! true.. fantastic car... but a bit older than i would have liked. if i see a mint one though i wouldnt say no. Or an Escort Cosworth? (Might be too much money at roughly £13K though)

jedi-knight83 0 Posted January 12, 2006 so long as the appreciation remains it's OK then I guess! i appreciate all my previous cars... otherwise they wouldnt have been kapt as long as they were and had so much money spent on them. 911 targa again a car for the future... but i woulf want a 993 if i was to get any 911 and that takes me into the £20k league

Dixxy 0 Posted January 12, 2006 Friend of mine works for renault and really rates the 172 and 182 even though he has to fix them everyday. Very fun little car to throw around... why not!!!
too hot 0 Posted January 12, 2006 I have obviously missed something here,WHAT HAPPENED TO THE S3 :?: :?: :?: I looks a real mess who hit you(I take it that it was someone elses fault) :?: Hope you are ok and none the worse for wear. Back to your new car then. Renault have reliabilty/ electrical probs build quality is not great. How do you think a 182 would stand up in a crash like the one suffered by the S3 :?: I had a new 5 Turbo years ago, sure enough it went like stink handled as if it was on rails, but the bodywork was made from recycled curry dishes :!: Difficult choice you have personally I would not have another renault. Just go drive one take it from there,if you like it it`s your choice. I would go for an M3 (build quality reliability etc) Good luck
jedi-knight83 0 Posted January 12, 2006 s3 crash details http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic. ... ight=crash the renault 5 is quite old now and alot of improvements have been made over the years. im sure the clio isnt as bad as a 5. i will drive it and see what i think.. and report back. renault do have a good track record for safety though... so i wouldnt have expected it to be much worse than the s3
