Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 18, 2006 Discussed a year or so ago Jim mate :-) There's one of those in the world's biggest supertanker! The propeller alone is 230 tonnes and takes 8 weeks to manufacture and balance! I love stupid size stuff like that :-)

dinkus 10 Posted January 18, 2006 I remember seeing an old 50's racing car that was on display when I went to Brands last year to watch some historic car racing. I can't remember what it was, but that also had what looked like a Merlin engine in it. It was truly nuts!
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted January 18, 2006 There's an American road car with a Merlin in it, done in the 70s I believe. It runs non Supercharged and 'only' good for about 750hp and around 900ft/lb at 1600rpm in road trim....they don't rev much more than that so the gearing needs to careful attention :-) Superchargerd Merlins are good for 1600+hp with scary mpg! steve_16v 0 Posted January 18, 2006 There was thread on here a few months back about an american one done recently with a merlin engine that was on ebay, can't remember the exact details but pretty sure it was running over a thousand bhp!
Blue_Joe 0 Posted January 18, 2006 108,000 BHP @ 102 rpm  sweet But even more impressive, Imagine trying to keep traction on a road with this: Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm
