anyone else raced an Audi S4

Was on my local test track on sunday, m62 *cough* ploding along at about 120ish in my VR when i came up behind a newish black audi cab, I slow to about 100 then he pulls over and we are both side by side going for it.

 

Well at least i though he was , a car was approching in the middle lane so i was looking in my rear view mirror for him to pull in behind me. he didnt, he just went on the inside and left me for dead :lol: he didnt just pull away slowly either he just took off, i was doing flat out 150ish and he was miles ahead :shock:

It didnt have any badges on it so im assuming it was an S4, what top speed can they do?

What does the VR pull like after 140? Never tried it! Does it sound strained at 150?!

if hes chipped it and taken the de-restrictor off i wouldnt wanna know what it can do coz i think they have 420bhp standard so with it being like a v8 twin turbo just chip/remap would prob easy get another 60 bhp but yes all german mainstream cars i.e like m3 rs4 merc clk are restricted to 155

Was it black with black roof?? My mate has an S4 cab in that combo and he has the restrictor taken off. He's from Manchester but is a rep so he travels round a lot.

 

He reckons its good for at least 180 but he's only taken it up to 160 so far.

Yeah it was and it had tinted windows as well. it was near the Hull end of the M62.

He didn't have the windows tinted when I last saw him but he may have now.

Pulls bloody well :norty:

 

Obviously acceleration is a bit slower at the top end, but it feels and sounds as happy as a happy thing.

140-150 is suprisingly quick, not supercar quick obviously but it takes less time than you'd think. I couldnt really hear my engine at that speed, the wind noise drowned it out... or was it my screams?

My new girlfreind didnt even say a word, even at that speed. Some of my ex's would have been screaming or cawering into a little ball. :lol:

the v8 s4's go on and on and on.. was lucky enough to have a go in one when they came out.

 

340 bhp and about 300 torque i think. Not as easy to tune as the old s4 though so probably about 360ish if its been fettled with by AMD. still pretty good though. I think they hit 170 derestrited.

 

Had the s3 up to 155 (on sat nav) after it was chipped. got there easy and felt so smooth. modern cars really dont notice speed atall.

oh and your indicated 150 on the speedo was probably about 135ish in real figures. i never got my vr over 140 and i tried a few times. plus the speedo on them is out by the usual 10% (unless you have altered it of course)

My Corrado speedo over read by 5-7mph - I got a genuine 150mph out of mine on GPS.
