EIP inlet/intake manifold for n/a vr6?

Hi

 

EIP apparently do inlet/intake manifold for a n/a golf vr6 and claims gains of up to 10bhp and 10 lbs/ft torque. Not as much torque increase as a Shrick but more than half the price (selling for $500 in the US). Is an EIP inlet manifold a good quality product? Is it worth it and can it be purchased in this country?

 

Has anyone used or know anyone who has used one of these?

They are only good for FI cars, you will probably loose HP and torque putting them on a N/A car. They just gut the manifold and welded back together, not much better then a euro (2.9l) manifold.

think its unlikely you're going to LOOSE power and torque mate?

i have heard they do only give around 10 bhp and 10 lbft and some minor gains in low end torque. not in the same league as the schrick.

but they do look damn sexy in polished and black trim :)

i quite fancy one myself. but i wouldn't expect too much from it

Yep. America never got the 2.9 manifold, so EIP just chop the underside of 2.8 ones out and plate it over again to create the same plenum size as the 2.9 one.

 

Euro 2.9 mannies were highly saught after over there at one point....
