stage 4 G60 or VR6

Recommended Posts

ive been looking for a corrado for a while and got around 2500 to 3k to spend which would be the fastest eg 0-60 1/4 mile etc of the 2.

ive looked at all the standard specs but just wonderin if the stage 4 urpgrades would make them any faster.

also due to the amount of funds the vr6 option would probably have high miles are they likely to be problematic with high miles.

G60 suffers to 60 due to a rubbish 2nd gear ratio...

There's not a lot in it between a standard stage 4 G60 and a standard VR6 otherwise...

the way the power is delivered is different... VR6 has LOTS of low down grunt compared with the G60 and is more of a cruiser. G60 needs more gear changes to get moving as well as a VR...

It's basically just down to that... handling is very similar between the two despite the slightly heavier VR6 engine...

VR with higher mileage will probably need the timing chains doing if it hasnt been done already, I think Vince up at Stealth charges a flat £600 for that.

Not to say that they can't run for crazy miles without the chains being done (andi the admin had over 200k out of his original set)

You wouldn't think that of the VR6 to drive one :-) When Supercharged had his Stage 4 bits and peices done, he was keeping up with my Shcricked VR pretty easily. VR6 defo the cruiser of the Corrado family ;-)

Although a shorter diff ratio makes it more accelerative and less lethargic off the line.

I prefer the way the 4 cylinder Corrados turn-in personally. You can feel the VR's nose weight all the time, but it doesn't hamper progress.
