It won't be though.

The torque delivery low down decieves you into thinking it is.

There would be nothing seperating standard a 12 and 24V rados in a 0 - 150 test,

That Ebay VR6 'Race Engine' guy replied to a message i sent to him.

"not sure of exactly what clearence volume, but was all measured by my engine builder and he has taken 1.5mm of the block and pocketed 1.5mm out of piston crown,so clearence is same as standard engine, which allows you to use anything up to approx 285 degree duration with 11mm of lift."

Aah, that everyday acceleration test eh? 0-150!! lol you nutter :)

The one thing that does worry me about the 24v is the noise, after hearing talk of smoother and quieter. I'll have to sort that out!

Erm, aren't you the one that started the thread saying you could have got up to 118 on your local test 'track'? So why is 150 so far fetched??! :-)

Yeah the 24V is very quiet..... you could barely hear Jay's at all at the rolling road day. I like that tho.

You've heard Phat's at Curborough, so they can sound raw if required....

Surely with the extra torque, and BHP it would be quicker kev?

I know mine is defo quicker than the 12v engine, and my last VR, but it does have custom code software ;)

Power is about the same, most of the standard VRs at the rolling road day made over 200 ponies and I think one even got as high as 211ish.

Torque wasn't far off the 2.8 24v's either from the few plots I looked at.

I'm just going by how a 4Motion drove, very good from a standing start but it just didn't pull with the same vigour past 4K, kind of like a schricked VR! The 12V starts to really move from 4K. I doubt there'd be any more than a couple of car lengths in it tbh, but it would be a good experiment as I've not driven a 2.8 24V Rado yet.....the reduction in weight over the MK4 can only help it!

Erm...

Just pointing out that 0-150 mph is a fairly theoretical past-time mate :)

I personally don't get too many opportunities to do it :(

OK, 0-110 then :-)

I reckon if the 24V gets a good launch (and it's bottom end will help ensure that) then it will be very hard to catch again....
