shameless paste from daves16v ;)

List of things to remove/unclip in no particular order, some are obvious but I'll include them anyway.

1) Unscrew door unlock knob - top of door

2) Pull off plastic trim where the door mirror is (triangular piece) it just pulls off - 3 clips I think.

3) 1 screw at the front edge of the door card

4) 2 screws at the rear edge of the door card

5) Unclip the door handle cover (the part you pull on to close the door), to do this there is a small slot at the bottom of it - stick screw driver in and prise off. There will be two big screws under there. Undo these screws and then pull the handle away, I think it comes away along with the leccy mirror button.

6) Now that you've got the handle off there is another screw under there.

7) The door open lever surround needs to come off, slide it to the rear of the door, it may be very tight.

Cool Remove the speaker cover - small slot at the bottom, stick screw driver in and prise off. Screw at the left hand side about 10 o'clock position.

9) The door card sits in about 4 clips on the lower edge of the door. These do not come off - the door just sits in the them when you come to re-assemble.

10) Don't forget to unclip the window and mirror switch cables. The speaker cable might unclip on your car but it may be soldered in - it was on the Storm I did the other week.

That's about it. When you come to re-fit the door card open the window as the door card drops into a plastic channel in the top of the door - it's easier to see with window down. Oh and it can be a pig to align the door card with the plastic channel, the door lock knob pin and the clips in the bottom of the door all at the same time.

not sure how much that differs for early cards, but you didn't say what you had ;)

btw, what do you mean by 'not opening'?

ahhhhhhh

can't think of a way then, as you need to lift the card off the bottom clips to remove it, and you wouldn't be able to do that with the screws in the sides :-/

Nah you're pretty stuck. I don't think it can be done with out cutting the door card at the sides.

Yep thats my problem.

only thing i can think of is just 'yanking' the whole door card off and getting a replacement. Any other ideas?

Just to mention its a 1990 valver

if your careful, the screws at the sides are held into plastic holders, you may be able to get your arm in to prise the plastic bits out,one you get one side out the other should come out a bit easier

but if the door is closed, would you be able to push the plastic holders through? I would have thought that the movement would have been restricted by the car chassis?

well its either a case of trying that or destroying your door cards..id prefer the 1st choice..you can only but try

Could you get in to trigger the lock down the window aperture? If you remove the weather strip and have a fish around with a metal rod you might be able to pop it?
