Dr Forinor 0 Posted May 17, 2006 I know this has been covered before but no one has actually said what they thought of the Sainsbury's Super Unleaded. From what I gather from the previous posts, the higher the octane the better, but Optimax also additives which others dont? Optimax is 98ron, Sainsbury's is 97ron, but the cheapest Optimax in my area is 100.9p and Sainsbury's was 96.9, so I thought I'd try it and tbh, I dont notice a difference at all between the two. Does anyone know if Sainsbury's Super has additives like Optimax does? I mean it does drive fine but as said before Optimax cleans aswell, I don't want to lose that aspect of Optimax. andy 0 Posted May 17, 2006 I never use anything else. I get an extra 2mpg over 95 RON but no noticeable performance difference. 2mpg is well worth the extra few pence a litre imo.
Dr Forinor 0 Posted May 17, 2006 So does that mean you use only Sainsbury's or Optimax? lol

Dr Forinor 0 Posted May 17, 2006 See, for some reason I think my car likes Sainsbury's better than Optimax, it seems to pull better at the lower revs...
Dan_Storm 0 Posted May 18, 2006 I have always found Optimax a bit weak at lower revs too!
