Surely, one must know what one has paid for an item and how the condition of said item may have altered since purchase. If I offered a fiver, a bag of bacon rasher crisps and a draft excluder that's been half-chewed by an alsation, you'd probably say no. (If, however, the answer was yes, please PM me to sort out payment details) If, on the other hand, I offered £5k, you'd undoubtedly say yes. Somewhere between offer (a) and offer (b), there is a point where the answers 'yes' and 'no' meet.
