have you currently got the engine installed into the car ? if not i would allow this extra £500 for unexpected parts needed before it runs 100%

What about a gearbox with proper 1st and 2nd gear ratios to get it off the mark & up to 60 with minimal fuss???

A s/h mk3 GTI gearbox wouldn't cost that much would it?

if you're going to do the head properly, it's gonna cost you a damn site more than £500 by the time you've added in new bolts, gaskets, water flanges, oil, coolant etc etc etc etc....

The two modded heads I've had have both cost more than £500 on their own. The one that Billinjah now has for his car cost me around £500 exchange and the one on my car now I don't want to put into print what it cost me!  (Bill, I'll dig out the receipt for that head and send it down to you next time I get to my storage unit... 8) )

ok ive got sns chip,68mm pulley, cat bypass and boost return.

Charger is stage 4 aswell.

I would be prepared to fit a secondhand head or any secondhand parts so that means my £500 will go further

I'd sell it and save the £500 and the rest of the 5k+ once you get addicted to spending money on it  not want you want to hear but the best advice you can get for free
