Andy665 0 Posted July 4, 2006 I've never driven a MK1 before - bought for the other half as a Summer car, going to be interesting driving back from Kent - no performance, no power steering, keep fit windows :D
Peakz 0 Posted July 4, 2006 They're fun to drive on short journeys, looks like a rare Coco Chanel ltd edition too. Is it a 1.8 K-Jet engine?

Andy665 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Apparently it is a Coco Chanel edition, they all came with blue hoods and it is a 1.8 K-Jet
Phil K 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Looks good! How much did you pick that up for if you don't mind me asking? (I'm asking as have a mate trying to sell his)
Andy665 0 Posted July 5, 2006 I paid £1700, including 6 months tax, 12 months MOT, full car cover, the stereo, FVWSH and four brand new tyres
Peakz 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Looks like a bargain there Andy. Like I said earlier they're fun to drive and the K-Jet injection is so much nicer to drive than any Digifant injected car. I remember driving a Sportline cabbie (essentially the same car) years ago from near Carlisle back to the Midlands, loved every minute of it. Despite having a soft top it was very quiet, pretty responsive engine too.
vr6storm 0 Posted July 5, 2006 Apparently it is a Coco Chanel edition, they all came with blue hoods and it is a 1.8 K-Jet only thing tho...............there ain't any Coco Chanel upholstery on it?? as per this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1986-VOLKSWAGEN-G ... dZViewItem or this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mki-Volkswagen-Go ... dZViewItem
Andy665 0 Posted July 5, 2006 I know, however I'd rather have a mint non-original in terior than a tired looking original one
vr6storm 0 Posted July 5, 2006 I know, however I'd rather have a mint non-original in terior than a tired looking original one so how do you know its a Coco Chanel one then????.......i thought even if it was tired that that would be a major identification part of it
Andy665 0 Posted July 6, 2006 V5 has it marked as one - am not bothered if it is or not tbh, just saw it as a nice clean car

Henny 0 Posted July 7, 2006 think you'll be pleasantly suprised with how nippy and fun it is to drive once you get behind the wheel... I still miss my MKI GTI even now I've got my 'rado G60 sorted nicely... Just so much more "chuckable" than the 'rado...
