double-6s 0 Posted July 10, 2006 If you break them in properly i've heard they're very good. Bit harsh and thats made worse if you don't run them in properly. I have a mate who is very much in the know on the dub scene, and has been for yonks, and he loves em. Most seem to disagree though.....
mtc R32 0 Posted July 10, 2006 vr6storm, Cheers.. Why avoid AVO though.. I can remember the Mk2 Golf days and people ranted and raved about them... Is anyone currently running AVO's???
vr6storm 0 Posted July 10, 2006 well like most things in life ya get what ya pay for...........best up yer budget and buy the better quality stuff.........not meant to sound snobbish etc but no sense spoiling the car by buying the budget stuff

Dub_nut_g60 0 Posted July 10, 2006 I have no experience of the AVO's, but if your looking at around £550 for then i can deffinately recomend for the Weitecs! give g-man a call and see what he can sort out for ya
double-6s 0 Posted July 10, 2006 He's talking on a vr mate. Each brand performs differently on different models.
mtc R32 0 Posted July 11, 2006 So the general concensus of AVO Coilovers are ????
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 11, 2006 All the cars I've been in that had Avos in rode terribly. Gaz used to make Avo dampers and they are very good, but they had to make them to a price, which inevitabley led to them leaking and creating a bad reputation. Gaz no longer wanted to make things to a price so went solo and now do some great kits for good cash....http://www.gaz-shocks.com/ As for bedding in. There is nothing to bed in. Spring steel and dampers deterioate with age, they are only perfect on day one and get worse from then on. All it is is oil squeezing through tiny holes in the damper piston, you cannot improve it's performance with age.
double-6s 0 Posted July 11, 2006 You're right kev. You know everything. You're the man eh?
double-6s 0 Posted July 11, 2006 My advice would be stop asking everyone else and try the fekin things mate.
billinjah 0 Posted July 11, 2006 the thing about avos is they are completely rebuildable completely adjustable and customisable but must on the dub scene want plug and play (me included)
mtc R32 0 Posted July 11, 2006 I thought that, thats what the whole point of having a Forum is to share good practises?? Well I haven't heard anyone rave about them yet so... I'll leave em!!! The last thing i want is to go through the hassle of putting them on and wishing I'd never of got them in the first place....
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted July 12, 2006 My advice would be stop asking everyone else and try the fekin things mate. Gets expensive though!! You're right though, with subjective things like tyres and suspension, they are things you can only try yourself as one man's rock hard is another's blancmange mushy pea shieete.
