Well, after lots and lots of speculation, all will be revealed shortly, as VW are holding a bit of a launch event in Berlin in August to reveal their prototype of the "Iroc". I'm off soon :-)

IIRC IROC Stands for "International Race of Champions" It was a US Racing series in the 70/80's using Yankee V8 Muscle Cars!!

bits are fohooking cheap as chips. you can get a 5.7 chevy crate engine for about the same as a raddo rear bumper plastic!!

He got the letter today.. he's off to Berlin to see the launch of the new Scirocco. He asked me to post this up as i've just been to drop him off at the airport where he's off to Germany to visit his folks :)

 

I happen to be off work during that period that this launch happens and he said it might be possible to take a guest. I've already started begging.. not only because of the launch but because Berlin is where I was born but haven't ever been back there yet.

Yes, 'tis true, after somebody on the German Sciroccoforum had received an invite the others who'd attended the meet at VW in Berlin last January were getting slightly nervous, especially as it would seem that not everyone has had their invites for this event taking place in August yet.

 

Hence me hassling Jim to make a detour from work to the airport via my house so I could check my mail, and voila, the "iroc"-logo all splattered over the enevelope with a distinct VW-logo said it all :-)

 

Woohoo !!! Off to Berlin again, Tempelhof Airport, Hangar 2 (where allegedly a few porn-films have been made :lol:) where a big party will start on August 24th, oh and the revealing of a prototype of what VW currently will call the Iroc.

21:15 Presentation of the new iroc by Dr Wolfgang Bernard, CEO VW, Photoshoot opportunity, dinner (well, I hope there'll be an equally good amount of booze :lol:)

Difficult choice. Yes, you did guess it right first (hence my subdued no further posts on this thread once you had posted your guess :lol:, but at the time I wasn't quite sure yet myself, as to whether I had been invited or not), but Jim was there first when I actually received the official invite.

:lol: and boy, not very PC :lol: But to answer your original question: Being in the right place at the right time, as so many things in life, I guess ;-). I was and still am a member and moderator of the German Sciroccoforum back in January, when this all started with a first visit to Berlin to talk about the new Rocco :-)
