rmn 0 Posted July 23, 2006 I thought it was probably time i put up some info on aqua blue 16v corrado Well here it is, I bought it off aposgil's mate as a 2L 16v 1993 corrado Nice aqua blue in colour with winter pack and leather The last owner has an incident which resulted in a smashed front end(see pics) here is as i bought it looks worse than it was, it needed the innner wing pulledstraight, new wing bonnet and slam panel, all of which i had at home  the repaired car now, after a little work. I couldnt get the winter pack washers from anybody, and didnt get a chance to go near vw, so i must do that now so there it was fixed up and great, nice interior and all that It was a lovely 16v engine, ran very sweetly with a powerflow exhaust and a k&n, all the right little bits for a 16v then on a track day it was running really well, nice bit of power, but it was as if the timing had gone a little, it was fine, well so i thought unbtil about 2 miles form my house i lost all drive, the crank pulley had come off....so then i started thinking about more power... I bought a new 16v engine and fitted it but it was not as nice, so started thinking more power. This place will make you do that so then i got one of these engines and one of these cars a polish registered syncro golf, this had a kink in the a pillar, so it was just nasty, so a plan hatched  So now a few months down the road and after enlisting the help of a friend who is a professional welder i have a stripped corrado with some mods

markmcie 0 Posted July 26, 2006 This will be interesting when its done Richard. Money and social life will be out the window (except for a few beers in the garage :-) ) I know what you mean about getting hooked GS. Bought the left hooker that was for sale on vag last night. I just couldn't help myself.

markmcie 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Yeah and Rich has more then one. I stopped trying to count months ago. Saw a lovely G60 whistling down the road out round the glendalough area last week. Fat wheels and think it was grey. Deffo getting more popular over this side of the water. Which is reflected by the VRT increase (bastids). So how long we going to give Rich to get this project up and running. Will I start the stop watch or you :)
Bohall 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Well i'll have the insider knowledge as he sits across the room!! It'll be done right, no corners cut and everything will be like a factory fit IMO. I think everything has been bought already to fit the conversion so it's just a matter of bolting it all together (easier said than done i know!) But of course theres more than one project on the go, and it's not small either!!!
VAG-hag 0 Posted July 26, 2006 Sweet. Ill be watching this space. I would love an R32 conversion :D
