Trig 0 Posted August 4, 2006 M15 VW, do you just use rubber grommets?
Andi 2,147,483,647 Posted August 4, 2006 Used rubber gromits in my old C too...
DUB 0 Posted August 4, 2006 I've got these little blanking caps/plugs in mine made of black plastic - but I fancy the mk4/5 led + pin set up the golfs have, anyone on here got them is it easy to do ?
M15 VW 0 Posted August 4, 2006 M15 VW, do you just use rubber grommets? yep :) also means no pikey scum can try and yank them open :)
16vradge 0 Posted August 4, 2006 How do you lock the car once your in if you don't have the pins? Have you wired a switch to the door solenoid to lock it or don't you lock it when driving? Richbrook do solenoid door pins - less trick than just LEDs but safer if you can't lock it once your in. I've heard quite a few stories about cars being hijacked at traffic lights. Trig 0 Posted August 4, 2006 I managed to snap the rod on my passenger side one so I might just bung them both up. Makes door card removal that little bit easier as well :) I don't lock mine whilst i'm in. NEver know when you might need a speedy exit!
16vradge 0 Posted August 4, 2006 I guess for LEDs you'd use something like this - the black bezel would give a nice OEM finish. It'd look good, but I'd still have a switch inside for the C/L.
Trig 0 Posted August 4, 2006 So is the idea to hook it up to your alarm so it flashes in time with it? Black ones would look cool, maybe a bit too knight rider though.
16vradge 0 Posted August 4, 2006 So is the idea to hook it up to your alarm so it flashes in time with it? Yeah, connected up the the alarm LED they'll flash in time with it - couldn't it drain the battery though if left for long periods?? Black ones would look cool, maybe a bit too knight rider though. BLACKG60...aka Kitt, nice ride Mr Knight
mtc R32 0 Posted August 4, 2006 the Led's do drain the battery after being stood for a while.... I prefer the polished door pins... stylish yet still an original function!!!
M15 VW 0 Posted August 4, 2006 i dont lock the doors when im in it.
vwdeviant 0 Posted August 4, 2006 GUYS! I'd like some photos please! Looking to buy some replacements this weekend! I'm not removing them as I too like the idea of a manual back up if the CL fails (as it does a lot :D)

Jim 2 Posted August 4, 2006 Sorry for taking this OT but continuing the discussion on the previous page - I used to have a Blue LED alarm cap instead of the regular red on my MK4. It was awesome.. really bright LED and at night the whole of the car used to flash blue inside every 2 seconds for the alarm LED.. looked proper trick as all things with blue LED's do :)
JBOB 0 Posted August 4, 2006 Here's mine :D When locked the it slides down to about the first ring 8)
west-sidereason 0 Posted August 5, 2006 quote"BLACKG60" but I fancy the mk4/5 led + pin set up the golfs have, anyone on here got them is it easy to do ? I have the led+pin set up from a mk4 golf , it's very easy to do and looks good. i used door pins from a polo because the golfs were missing, the pins dissapear perfectly flush when locked, which is a nice touch. i will try and post some pictures tomoro. GIXXERUK 0 Posted August 6, 2006 I put flashing red leds in mine , they draw next to no current and i've never had any issues , i didnt link it to the alarm , i used a permenant live and linked to a fuse that drops to earth with the ignition off , simple but effective :-)
vdubjb 0 Posted August 6, 2006 I think I got mine from Volksbits or Awesome gti years ago. The corrado thread pitch differs from standard iirc.
