well you PMed me suggesting this, and I am already in a league with some mates (on the same site) thats a tenner in, and we have 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes (30 of us in at the mo, so thats 300 quid :D), we have done this for the last 4-5 years.

 

I didn't think it was practical on here, and didn't think we'd get half as many people signing up. I thought a large fun league might be more entertaining, but i'm always up for a flutter ;)

 

Its a shame the Sticky thread disapeared, as I was going to edit the first post with weekly league tables etc, but I can't edit the first post here as I didn't make it.

 

Only option is for me to make a new thread when the league starts, and keep the first post upto date with figures, so I'll do that when the league is underway, if the mods have no objection to another thread?

dunno, I asked for it to be stickied and it was, but then the whole thread disapeared :-/

 

I know in off-topics there is auto-pruning, so if a thread is idle for 2 weeks (whatever) then its deleted, but it wasn't inactive for more than a few days

You have around 24 hours to enter a team, and catch the start of the season :)

 

as soon as the league is under way I'll make a list of who's who and try and get some names to teams, I'll also keep a copy of the table update here

it defaults to 4-4-2 but you can swap midfielders or defenders for strikers to let you use 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 5-4-1, etc.

Very early days yet mate :wink: still another two games tomorrow, also if it's like last year the final scores for the week won't be finalised until the middle of the week

 

Anyone know what the bonus points are for, they weren't there last year :?

EDIT: nevermind, just checked the FFL site,

The three best performing players in each match will receive additional bonus points. Three points will be awarded to the best player, two to the second best and a single point to the third.

 

Player performance is assessed by Press Association analysts, all of whom are ex-professional footballers, who attend each match. This assessment takes into account the quality of a player's overall performance and their contribution to the match result.

 

Bonus points are awarded within 1 hour of the last match of the day finishing.
