herisites 0 Posted October 30, 2006 Cheers :D Riley: Cheers mate, you should be proud mate they are excellent products, its amazing how something small like cloths make such a difference when cleaning a car  but like i said before i will be happier to clean my car more often now due to it not drying streaky and horrible  What 9x16's you after mate? I think your D90's look superb on your car why do you want to change? Rob.

herisites 0 Posted October 30, 2006 Yeah they are nice rims, very similar to the Borbet A's tho but that isnt a bad thing  I know what you mean though i just love the look of corrados slammed on wide deep dish wheels, pure pornography  Rob. Bally 0 Posted October 30, 2006 defo suit the car.. looks very clean!
herisites 0 Posted October 30, 2006 Cheers Bally, so you dont think it looks like a buggy then? I know its high compared to the likes of yours with coilies but for a 40mm drop i dont think it looks that bad. The front will look better as its lowered about 60 so it will sit a bit more flush to the wheels, which will also mean i will need to roll my arches :( Rob. herisites 0 Posted October 31, 2006 Why wouldnt you fit the rims with the current ride height mate? Like i said before i cant really stretch for some coilovers at the moment or any time soon for that matter so i will just put the rims on as they are for now. But i will one day get some coilies once christmas and gf's bday etc etc are out the way first  Where is this stylehaus place then?

herisites 0 Posted October 31, 2006 Nice one, so how much would we be looking at to get the arches rolled? I dont want them pulled/flared etc just roll the lip up. I havent even tried the front wheels on yet but i am pretty sure they will catch. The backs dont catch at all so i wont need to roll them until its coilover time  Hey Ben, just incase ya worried i havent been driving around with the rear wheels on so the tyres aren't being warn out  i took it for a test run along some bumpy roads etc and they dont catch :D i should be getting some tyres soon so i will drop the tyres off tp you. Oh and the 195's on a 9" rim look have been quite a good conversation topic so far  its madness i dont know how you done it every day  Rob. herisites 0 Posted October 31, 2006 QUICK HELP NEEDED! Ok would anyone be able to clear this up for me. I tested my new rims which are 9x16 et15 at the rear and at the min they have 195/40 tyres on stretched!! they dont catch at all with my 40mm drop which is nice as i wont need archwork. However i need to get new tyres all round (fronts are also 9x16 but et30 with 3mm spacers) i have read soooo many threads using the search and there are mixed views. It seems that 205/40's are what people go for however on mytyres there isn't much choice of tyre in that size whereas 205/45's there are loads inclusing my favs the uniroyals. So would 205/45's be fine? They would fill the arches a tiny bit more as well  Rob.
herisites 0 Posted November 1, 2006 Bump can anyone help i need to order the tyres today really :?:
Bendy 0 Posted November 1, 2006 Yeah please help him out, i want my tyre's back!!! na only jesting Rob no rush mate. They do look good on ya motor tho and they do cause peeps to chat about the size or lack of it!! and tbh it wasnt a problem on a daily basis, the car drove on them tyres fine, its not like i drive at 100mph everywhere. Some peeps do get a bit anal about tyres tho!! As for the tyre size i aint got a clue, but i would reckon either a 205/40/16 or a 215/40/16 would be fine, but i guess someone will prove me wrong with rolling radius facts and figures!!! and as for arch rolling cost, about £50 a arch if i remember rightly!! herisites 0 Posted November 1, 2006 Cheers Ben, Well i think that 205/40's look good as quite a few people with 9" wheels seem to have these BUT only budget tyres do that size with the exception of Kumho's which are essentially a budget tyre but i dont really want to go with budget tyres tbh i want Toyo's or Rainsports or equivilent. They only do these tyres in 205/45's which are a slightly higher profile, but as they are going to be stretched wouldnt the higher profile just make it a tad less stretch? Plus the wheels will actually look like they have tyres on instead of looking like i have just put an elastic band round them  I got a quote for some 205/45 toyo's fitted at Orbit tyres near me for £330 but i get 10% discount with them through my old man so thats basically £300 so does this sound reasonable? Rob.
Neil VR6 0 Posted November 1, 2006 Rims look fat. Such a streeeeeetch! Doesn't it tramline on those tyres? EDIT: Probably not I suppose as the rubber's actually not all that wide
Riley 0 Posted November 1, 2006 (fronts are also 9x16 but et30 with 3mm spacers) i Rob. Ahhh,i thought ya had to stick to et15 when running 9x16's? no catching anywhere on the inside Rob? Not sure on tyres, deffo dont like the look of thew 195/40's   Neil.
herisites 0 Posted November 1, 2006 Dont know i havent fitted them yet  but Ben had them on his vr and et30 on their own catch but with the spacers its supposed to minimise catching on the calipers. Yeah the 195's are silly stretched  but i think the 205/45's will look much better. I imagine i will get tramlining but at the end of the day the wheels are for looks over practicality and they look great :D Rob.
young dub 0 Posted November 1, 2006 I personally would'nt go for 205/45's. stick to 205/40's or 215/35's. I think if you go for the 205/45's it will give you that 'buggy' look which you dont want.
catch_twotwo 0 Posted November 1, 2006 215/40 would probably be the way to go. I've got these onmy 9Jx16 Borbet A and the speedo is spot on (5 kmph out at 120 kmph)
g60greeny 0 Posted November 1, 2006 i got the kumho ecsta's 205/40/16 on my 9s,they seem ok, also the stretch is just right, seem to grip fine in the dry an wet, plus i couldn't afford anythin more expensive

Also how low is yours and have you had any arch work done? I had a look at 215/40's and they seem good price wise. Thanks for the links Ben, mytyres is the best imo, although i know the guys down at orbit near me so if they can come close price wise on some toyo's i may just go with them. Rob.
