Saw something I never thought I'd see today...ZERO miles G60

Recommended Posts

...can't say where but had a good luck over a registered but zero mileage Corrado G60 today, parked next to a registered but zero mileage MK2 16V (Oak Green obviously) and a registered but zero mileage MK3 VR6 Highline.

Highely unlikely to be true zero mileage vehicles, all cars have a few miles on them by the time they leave the factory, so without being clocked.......

Admittedly all had a handful of miles showing - probably less than 50 across all 3 cars - these cars are all totally factory fresh, run regularly, they even smell like new cars.

Shame is that they will probably never be driven, if they ever came up for sale you'd lose so much of their value as soon as they were used - real shame

Not at VW in MK, they don't care about history unfortunately

Interesting, would be very curious to see pictures of these.

Wonder how the new car smell has survived :?

It is caused by the solvents in glues used in manufacture and should fade in time, although I suppose when left unused no other smells are introduced to mask up the new car smell :? :?

Owner is pretty protective of the cars but hopefully I'll be able to sneak a few pictures next Friday, apparently he has other cars in similar conditions in some of his other places!!!

If you have to sell it to him, just tell him lots of VW enthusiasts you know would love to see pictures of untouched original cars - and point out that you are disclosing NOTHING about the location of the cars.

If he's an enthusiast too, surely he'd understand!

Get him to take a look at this thread, at least he would see how much we would appreciate seeing his cars!

Shame they are registered, imagine owning a 56 plate Rado!!

Pics man, Pics!

Sounds like a modern-day Schlumf Collection - two brothers down in Mulhouse, Alsace, collected every Bugatti they could lay their hands on and kept them secretly. They spent so much money on them that they went bankrupt and the French government took the collection over in lieu of the brothers' tax liability.

It's now open to the public as the French National Motor collection, together with lots of other vehicles, in a converted weaving factory in Mulhouse. It's a jaw-dropping experience when you first walk in.

Practically next door is the French National Railway Museum, so it is definitely worth staying for a couple of days.

Best wishes

RB

Nice, the ones Karmann have are awesome but to see some with the steering wheel on the proper side would be great.

It's also nice to see someone preserving these cars in UK form in an 'as new' condition for when we all can't drive anymore.
