Looking good mate, has the engine had any work? Chip pulley etc?

Cheers, I'm absolutely loving it and keep making excuses to pop out for a drive at the moment!

The sellers advert claimed it had been chipped and had an uprated pulley but I'm not convinced. A friend with a bit more experience of G60's has looked at it and reckons it has a standard pulley fitted and it does not feel like it has been chipped. That said, I'm not that fussed as I bought on the condition of the bodywork.

I have a few bits that I plan to do to the engine once the red one sells though.

I loved my g60, I had the sns chip with a 68mm pulley and the difference as soon as I drove it home from g-werks was night and day, so much more aggressive and punchy, with a rebuilt ported charger, decat and miltek exhaust it made 170bhp & 177lbs of torque at the wheels so more than standard at the fly.

I also had the blanking plate on the charger outlet which some don't like but I personally loved it, I liked the sound it made when releasing full throttle boost and also it definitely helped keep the charger cool by only drawing in cool air and not the hot recirculated boost. Before, after a spirited drive the charger was as hot as the engine, after the blanking plate mod the charger was always cool to touch, it did need a squirt of charger lube to maintain inside lubrication. I did also remove the black plastic piece that stopped the air hitting the charger through the grill which I also think helped as well as a cold air feed routed from the brake air duct up through the deleted carbon can and into a few aptly drilled holes in the bottom corner of the airbox.

Anyway enough of my ramble, Look forward to seeing your progress and enjoy the charger whine :)

Looks lovely, like the exhaust shape too - bit different from the usual oval that most of us have. It looks like it says something like Milltek from the photo, do you know what car it was originially intended for as the usual Miltek exhausts are also oval....?

It does look a bit low from the side though; could do with being adjusted to bring it a bit nearer the bumper cutout perhaps...?

Ramble away

Being new to G60's I'm very interested in peoples recomendations and experiences of what works and what does not etc!

One of the first things I have planned is fitting one of the RSR Charger outlets as I have been told these are a good upgrade and the plastic silencer box it replaces looks like it has seen better days and has been repaired with glue!

Cheers Mark. The exhaust is a Supersprint (it says Mega Superspint on in which is what you can see in the pic). Most of my friends seem to like the car but not the exhaust and think it should be changed.

I'm not too fussed either way by it - ideally I would prefer something a little more subtle but I can live with it and there are other bits I would like to change first. Yeah I do agree about it could do with being closer to the bumper - might have a look at that later....

Yeah, I was sad too see it go and thought about keeping it for a daily but the wife was not too impressed having 2 sat on the drive!

I had the afternoon off on friday so thought i would fit my BBM RSR outlet I bought at E38. The factory silencer looked like it had seen better days and had been glued together:

removed factory silencer. A bit of oil in the pipes and around the charger outlet but not much. I've been assured this is normal and nothing to worry about (as long as there are no metal fragments in it which there was not).

also found another split hose while i was poking about so fixed that too:

The car pulls much better now so pretty pleased! :)

Came back to the car after work today to find this:

Radowing.jpg

I spent ages finding the cleanest Rado I could and was so pleased with how clean this one was - thats the 3rd time its been hit while parked since I bought it at the start of august. The previous 2 times were minor and polished out..this clearly wont. :(

Absolutely fuming, amazing how many people cannot seem to avoid a parked car in a large car park where you are only normally doing a couple of mph. No details left after each occasion, so many scumbags out there.

I would recognise the car and driver who was next to me on that side, and the car park is mainly used by commuters who work in the town and many of the cars in there are the same ones every day so despite it being my day off tomorrow, I will be going in to wait and see if I can see the same car and check for damage....

I had a similar thing happen to me when I had my white corrado mate. I was going round a roundabout and a car pulled out into the side of me, I pulled over and he drove off!! I tried to chase him but traffic was so busy that I lost him!! I parked up the following day by where it happened, and looked out for a red car with damage (I knew the other car was red due to paint left on my car)! And belive it or not they drove passed me at almost exactly the same time as the day before! So I followed them until they arrived at thier house and confronted them. They admitted it was them and said they couldnt stop because they had nowhere to pull over?? I took the guys details and went straight to the police station. He went to court and got 3 points and a £200 fine, and my car cost £2000 to repair which his insurance wouldnt pay for!

There are some real ****ers out there mate, but dont give up hope, go back there tomorrow and look for them.

Cheers guys.

Went in this morning and waited in the car park, found the car that had been parked to my left yesterday but they were clearly innocent as it was undamaged. Walked round every car there and found nothing with what appeared to be fresh damage (hard to tell at this time of year) or that obviously matched my paint. Unfortunately there is no CCTV either so looks like I will be paying for it. Although I could claim on my insurance, it will probably work out cheaper just to pay for the damage than pay my excess and have a claim against me. :(

Keep your eyes out for a few weeks. A coward of that order will undoubtedly change their routine for a short while but it wouldn't surprise me if they soon became complacent and returned.... Then nab 'em!

on the mend :) (although sadly I'm paying as no joy finding the person who caused the damage!)

Hey Stu - Cheers buddy. Hows things? Hows your coming on?

All sorted and shiny again now. Massive thanks to Dave @ Carro's Automotive (01799 543828) in Newport, Essex for sorting it. Top bloke, great job, great price and he even lent me a car to use while he had mine. :)
