2.0 16v OVERFUELING

Just wondered if any1 has had a problem in the past and resolved it.

Have had it in 2 garages near york now and they can't figure it out.

an air leak anywhere after the metering head flappy paddle thing would cause over fuelling. Have you checked all the tubes?

Air tubes seem to be fine.

Alot of overfuelling problems seem to be linked with the lambda sensor.

Replaced the lambda and still the same1

Is that 14 mpg according to MFA or is that calculated mileage per tank of fuel?

Thats what it seems to average on the MFA. it does seem to reflect though in the amount of money i'm putting in it!!

Just check all the vacuum hoses are connected properly, this will give a low MFA figure if one has worked free

one thing i have had since i've had the vehicle is that the fuel pump seems pretty loud, a few mates have said this should't make a difference though.

Yeah mine is too, changing the fuel filter might sort that....cant imagine that it'll make any difference to the fueling either

What i would do is fill up car, run until nearly empty clocking the miles. Fill up again, note litres used, devide by 4.55 to give gallons used and then devide your mileage by the figure you have worked out
