Stan 24v 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Its not the one with Hamster that we've all seen, its the original with Tiff Needell 8) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2ZEw4up ... rado%20G60
corozin 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that one before. Interesting to see the Corrado reviewed in the context of the cars of it's day I thought, although the luggage used in the demonstration looked a little bit "rigged" by VW to make the boot look big. Interesting fact : "Tiff" obviously isn't his real name. It stuck with him as a family nickname at an early age because his brother couldn't pronounce "Timothy" apparently. Jonny_L 0 Posted November 26, 2006 Sweet vid, i've seen it before, but good to watch it again. and again, and again, and again... :) Interesting fact : "Tiff" obviously isn't his real name. It stuck with him as a family nickname at an early age because his brother couldn't pronounce "Timothy" apparently. You know, Until now, I never questioned that Tiff isn't a real name, mind you, I wonder if there have been any kids named after him! You learn something new every day. Critical_Mass 10 Posted November 26, 2006 You know, Until now, I never questioned that Tiff isn't a real name, Me either until i saw a re-run of top gear today. Tiff Needell was on and showed his name as Timothy "Tiff" Needell.
A5 VRX 0 Posted November 26, 2006 Quality vid, you can really hear the charger on that! Why doesn't mine sound anything like that?!
LJ 0 Posted November 26, 2006 Watched this back in the day (ala. '88) and the reason I always wanted the G60 :-) ... I was confused by the noise also, as engine bay shot on this prototype car also has the black silencer box on the outlet of the SC. Oh yeah, and I archived the clip, using a Firefox plugin to download and then converted to MPEG using ffmpeg under Linux :-)
ilovemycar 0 Posted November 26, 2006 Thanks for posting that! 19 grand in 1988? That's a lot. That's decided it, I definitely want to do a track day now, no question. Also, I don't know why, but I liked the dry tone, and the way he calls the spoiler an "aerofoil" though I guess technically that's right. Mine doesn't work though.
