Which Fuel Pump?

My fuel pump whines a fair bit, and I think it needs replacing really.

 

I spoke to one of the guys from Dubsport at the RR day and he suggested fitting a Walbro, and said the one for the Evo is the same as the C, and can be had for around £70.

 

Should I try and get one, or would a new standard VR pump do? How much are they?

 

Are they fairly easy to change? I assume its a case of removing the cap in the boot and just swapping it over, after disconnecting the battery of course ;)

I hadn't read closely enough to notice the 24v engine. Stan, what ECU are you running?

i would go uprated.

My r32 will be initially running a digifant pump :-s

 

My mates 1.8T was pushing 250bhp on the standard digi pump with no problems.

 

if it fails I will be investing in an uprated item.

I've used the Walbro before and they don't fit in the OE housing properly.

 

Vince at Stealth had some special fitting rings made up for the Sytec pump he sells and they go in perfectly. It's what I use on mine for the turbo. £90ish. 500hp rated.
