How Hard is it to convert a LHD to RHD

Iv got a LHD g60 jet and im wandering how hard or easy it is

to convert the steering column from LHD to a RHD. Has anyone

done this sort of thing before. and what sort of things would i need anybody out the have a clue.

 

Please help as im struggling to sell the car so i thinking about keeping

it if i can do this conversion.

tbh its not going to be cost effective.........best either take a bigger loss on it or keep as is,if you can drive LHD you will be able to drive it over here,just have to be more cautious etc

well for a start you'll have to buy

dash,steering column,steering rack,pedal box,door cards(unless you keep 2 switches on pass side) plus god knows what other RHD bits you'll need,your not exactly asking the world price wise as is

would these have to be g60 parts or will a 16v parts do if i could get

hold of a cheap donar

interior stuff could be 16v or G60..........not sure about the steering rack...........its not cost effective IMHO unless you are going to do the conversion yourself and can get hold of a donor C for pennies

16v parts will work fine,also you need to cut out and re weld in the column supports.

 

Its Not easy or cost affective,there are plenty of shells out there to use.

 

Also the fuse box is on the wrong side.

it sounds like its goin to be a bit out of my league im not over brilliant with a spanner and not the richest of men. i really want to keep the car but as its in spain at the moment still unsure as to bring it back

its a g60 jet so using 16v parts might not be a good idea either. Thanks for your imput guys youve been a great help.

if you want to keep it,then keep and bring it over(i take it you are coming back to blighty to live)..........it might be a slight pain to drive over here but there are plenty ppl over here driving left hookers so its not as massive a hardship as you might think

i might bring it over as a weekend car yet so it might make it to the uk iv already moved back to the uk but the cars still in spain lots to think about realy

you´ll have trouble with the ABS mate no RHD parts for the ABS on the G60

thanks iv been thinking it over iv been after a new project over here and i was thinking about goin for an escort cos but i miss my car a lot and its really not selling over there so its a big possibillity its going to make back here

For the price Corrados now go for it would be more cost-effective to either sell or keep your existing LHD Corrado and buy a RHD Corrado.

 

The other thing to consider is resale value. Who would buy a LHD -> RHD converted Corrado when they could just buy a proper RHD one for the same price?

I was looking in to this so i could take my car to Australia but decided it's to much the ecu and wiper motors wrong to and the fire wall needs cutting and welding.

Coming from spain your better selling it or keeping it LHD like i did, I've driven a lhd rado for over a year here now with no probs.
